Won 55-9. Burrow was 12-19 for 298 yards and five touchdowns. He threw his first interception of the 2014 season in the first quarter.

 

In Athens' win, Joe Burrow was a modest 10 for 13 passing, 286 yards, 5 touchdowns. He now has 1,485 yards and 24 touchdowns this season.

Joey Burrow, QB, The Plains (Ohio) Athens: Burrow completed 10 of 13 passes for 286 yards as Athens (5-0, 2-0 Tri-Valley Conference) cruised to a 61-14 win vs. McArthur Vinton County. Five of those 10 completions went for touchdowns, including two apiece to Zacciah Saltzman and Adam Luehrman. The Bulldogs led 61-0 at halftime and ropped Vinton County (0-5, 0-2).

Joe Burrow
In what was easily their toughest ball game of the season, Burrow was once again a huge reason why the Bulldogs walked away victorious on Friday night. Taking on Steubenville, Joe shook off a rocky start to complete 20 of his 27 passing attempts for 370 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground he rushed for 77 yards and two more scores in the 58-42 win over the Big Red.

For my money, the best high school football player in Ohio is Buckeye quarterback commit Joe Burrow. Against a stingy Steubenville team, Burrow accounted for six touchdowns, two of them on the ground, and threw for over 300 yards. threw for over 300 yards. Burrow and his Athens teammates were victorious in a high scoring game, 58-42.

Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and is hoping to get a bump in the rankings. With the season he is having, he might receive a bump soon; he's performing as well as any quarterback in America. The Buckeyes ought to be confident in Burrow's ability to lead the team.

 

Burrow's on fire:
Current Ohio State quarterback commit Joey Burrow is making a bid at the title of Ohio's Mr. Football. Through just six games, Burrow has racked up 2,200 total yards and 30 touchdowns to just one interception. Burrow could be the most underrated player in this year's class as he has a chance to shine as a Buckeye.

There's something to like in every facet of his game as he's extremely accurate and mobile enough to be a threat on the ground. Burrow is a distributor that won't turn the ball over much. Growing up in Ohio, he knows what it means to play for the Buckeyes and he shouldn't disappoint when he arrives on campus.



Last Friday, Burrow led Athens High to a solid win over Steubenville. In the 58-43 victory, the future Buckeye signal-caller passed for 370 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 77 yards and two more scores. Burrow and his Athens Bulldogs hit the road this week and will take on Meigs High School.
