If you follow college football recruiting, the first week in February is much like Christmas. Many fans wait with anticipation waiting to hear if their school landed a top 10 recruiting class and then debate why they missed out on a sure fire All-American. With National Signing day approaching for high school seniors, Jim Tressel and staff have gained 22 verbal commitments for the 2011 class and are waiting on 4 high school seniors to announce their decisions in the next 24 hours. Currently Scout.com ranks Ohio State's 2011 class as the 4th best in the nation, Rivals.com ranks Ohio State's 2011 class as the 11th best in the nation and ESPN.com ranks Ohio State's 2011 class as the 7th best in the nation.

Lets take a look at the remaining prospects considering the Buckeyes:

Curtis Grant

Curtis Grant (6'3, 222lbs) is considered a top 5 linebacker nationally and was recently named a Parade All-American. Grant tallied 331 tackles the past 2 years at Hermitage High in Virginia. Reportedly considering Ohio State, Florida and Virginia. Grant will announce his decision on Wednesday, 2/2/11 at 1:50pm est on ESPNU

Audrey Walker

Audrey Walker (6'5, 333lbs) is considered a top offensive lineman prospect in the nation. Walker helped Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville reach the Ohio State playoffs the past 2 years. Widely considered a Ohio State lean but recent reports have Walker seriously considering USC. Walker will announce his decision on Tuesday, 2/1/11 at 7:30pm est.

Cardale Jones

Cardale Jones (6'4, 200lbs) from Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville is considered the #12 pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation. Jones recently received an offer from Ohio State. Jones may be facing academic questions that possibly could send him the prep school route. No announcement date or time set for Jones.

Darius Jennings

Darius Jennings from Baltimore, Maryland/Gilman School is being recruited by Ohio State as an athlete. Considered the 11th best athlete in the nation by Rivals.com. Jennings is explosive with the ball in his hands and can also play defensive back. Jennings is considering Ohio State, Virginia and Wake Forest. Jennings will announce his decision Wednesday, 2/2/11 at 7:30am est.

Wavering?

Ejuan Price

Ejuan Price (6'0, 235lbs) from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania/Woodland Hills
verbaled to Ohio State in January, but recent events seem to indicate that Price is taking a serious look at his hometown school, Pittsburgh. Price recently took an unofficial visit to Pitt. Their is a possibility Price could decide to attend Pitt. No one is certain of Price's decision and it will not be final until either Ohio State or Pitt receive a signed LOI. Stay tuned.

Prediction

In my uneducated opinion I think Ohio State finishes the 2011 class with the following:

Grant = Ohio State
Walker = Ohio State
Jones = Ohio State
Jennings = Virgina
Price = Pittsburgh

Recruiting is just another reason why I love College football more than the NFL.

Bro sleep in....why announcing so early? LOL

P.S. - A glenville kid turning down ohio state is akin to a traitor!!!!!!!

So far 1 for 2 on your prediction but glad to see the one you got wrong is good for the good guys!:biggrin:

Yep, all of Price's actions indicated he was going to Pitt. It just goes to show you recruiting is a crazy world.............

I am also going to miss on Walker, but everyone is going to miss on Walker.........

I'm not too sad about Walker, we already have some good prospects coming in with this class and I'm comfortable with JT knowing what he's doing

There are quite a few prospects in Ohio in the 2012 class that we can target on the offensive line that are comparable to Walker............I am not worried at all.

I always say, if that prospect says no thanks, well go on to the next prospect..............

Who are we looking at in the 2012 class that we have to look forward to?

I finished 3 out of 5 correct on my predicitions...............ouch............at least I had Price wrong and it ended up good for tOSU..............

That's how recruiting goes but that a good record for predicting what kids are going to do

Does OSUBJ get an infraction for failing to bring in Walker? :boxing_smiley:

I can't compete with the LA scene..............

I confess I don't get the appeal of USC. Yea hot chicks rock but other than that, I'm not sure what that college has. I went there for the beatdown game, but that campus is garbage, its surrounded by the hood of south central los angelas and you feel like you're going to get shot by a member of MS-13. UCLA is a different situation altogether, now that is a beautiful area and a great campus.
