I haven't had the time to re watch the game, but this is something I want to do before this Saturday vs Ohio. I was one of the 105k+ fortunate fans to make it to this game and not only did the team come to play but the fans brought it as well.
Rivalry? Redemption? Depends which side you're asking. Fact of the matter is, you can talk all you want, but you better be able to bring it and this is something Miami couldn't do. Swagger-less Canes. Thug-U.
Ever since Cie Grant rushed Dorsey and forced an arrant pass to end the game Miami fans have been crying howl about how they were cheated out of a National Title. Nevertheless, they forget the blown call against Gamble that even forced the game to go to OT in the first place. Had that play been called right then it's highly likely we run the ball out in regulation -- thus making the "controversial" call irrelevant.
But time moves forward and more games are kicked off, and in all reality, more people will cry and complain. But people forget, Buckeye fans had this game circled on their schedule years ago, much more than Miami fans had. Why? To prove, yet again, why our program is better than theirs and to shut all doubt about the stupid, nonsense and bashing from "fans" of a fairweather city and team.
The Buckeyes show strength, again. And they will continue to show strength whenever they are pushed up against the wall. It's easy to talk and think you're "all that" but when matched up against a hungrier beast with something to prove you're going to get an ass whooping.
As the Buckeyes did back in 2002/03, we won the game our way, with defense. Saturday, this unit really only gave up 10 points in the game and had we held contain on special teams this wouldn't have been close to begin with. Four forced turnovers and holding this team to 120 rushing yards is great.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, offense wins you games but defense wins you championships. (And hopefully special teams will decide to show up for the party.)
