'It made me feel at home': 2025 CB Jett White gets offer on Ohio State football recruiting visit https://t.co/DqAkO5JFC5— BuckeyeXtra.com (@BuckeyeXtra) March 21, 2023
When Jett White stepped on Ohio State’s campus for the first time Monday, he was blown away. The four-star 2025 California cornerback was impressed after seeing what the Buckeyes had to offer and thought his time spent in Columbus was memorable. “I thought it was great, to be honest,” White told Eleven Warriors of his visit. “First class facilities and staff for my first time in Columbus.” The highlight of his visit was meeting with cornerbacks coach Tim Walton, who extended an Ohio State offer to the top-65 prospect. “I was extremely excited to get that offer,” White said. “(Coach Walton) told me he liked my length, smoothness and athletic ability. This offer ranks near the top (of my list).” Monday was White’s first time speaking with Walton, but he had a prior relationship with Ohio State program assistant Gerren DuHart, who joined the team's staff in the offseason after coaching at Michigan State. White said DuHart introduced him to Walton on the visit. Thus far in his recruitment, White has picked up more than 40 Division I offers, including USC, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Memphis, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M. In his sophomore season, White made 33 tackles and two interceptions. “My best ability would be playing boundary cornerback, bump and run with my length and reach,” White said. “I can get hands on wide receivers, disrupt timing and smother a wideout’s catch radius.” Following the visit, White said he’s already planning on making two more trips back to Ohio State, one for a gameday visit this fall and the other in the spring of 2024. As for what the Buckeyes can continue to do to impress him, White said it's not complicated – just be honest and true. “Honestly just being able to keep it 100 with me,” White said. That’s the main thing. Don’t lie to me because your words are everything to me.”

JETT WHITE PUTS OHIO STATE IN TOP 10, SETS COMMITMENT DATE Speaking of cornerbacks, one of the Buckeyes’ targets for the 2025 class, four-star Florida prospect Jett White, has released a final 10 schools and has set a commitment date for Jan. 6. White will commit during the All-American Bowl broadcast on NBC and choose from a group of schools that includes Ohio State, Alabama, Maryland, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Louisville, Penn State and USC. White told 247Sports this week Florida is coming after him the hardest, while Oregon and Penn State are right behind the Gators. He added no decision has been made as of yet. “They have great facilities and I really like coach (Tim) Walton and coach (Gerren) Duhart a lot,” White told 247Sports about the Buckeyes. “Plus I’ll have a chance to battle against the best receivers in the country every day in practice.” White received his Ohio State offer on March 20 after visiting campus for a spring practice and spoke glowingly of the Buckeyes. Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, White is considered the 270th-best prospect and 31st-ranked cornerback in the 2025 class. “I was extremely excited to get that offer,” White told Eleven Warriors after the visit. “(Coach Walton) told me he liked my length, smoothness and athletic ability. This offer ranks near the top (of my list).” As of now, it’s probably a safe bet to pick the field over Ohio State with White’s decision being nearly two months away. Ohio State's top cornerback target in 2025, Devin Sanchez, is committing on the same day at the same venue, so Buckeye fans will have multiple reasons to tune in to the All-American Bowl.
