“It was January 25th, 2015,” Myers said. “I was sitting in (Urban) Meyer’s office and I don’t know exactly what it is about this moment that made me know. I was on a visit with my dad and my brother and we were watching the hype video from the Team Up North game. It was real loud, on the projector, there was just something about it. I knew when I left that was it. It just felt like the place I needed to be.”

    5. Josh Myers, Offensive Line

Did you watch the Fiesta Bowl? Dumb question. Of course you did. And because you did, you witnessed the woeful performance by Ohio State's offensive line against a ferocious Clemson front. After Michael Jordan went down with an ankle injury, Demetrius Knox looked overwhelmed when he initially stepped in the lineup.

Pat Elflein graduated. Billy Price plans to move to center to take his place. Jamarco Jones could head to the NFL a year early. If that happens, that is three slots that need to be filled on the offensive line.

Myers is a 5-star prospect but never really had to pass block in high school because Miamisburg runs the Wing T and lets him maul opponents as part of a powerful rushing attack. That is really the only reason Myers isn't higher on this list — because he will go through an adjustment period that will force him to get better at that part of his game. He worked at center and guard in San Antonio last week at the Army Bowl so Greg Studrawa could move him there to help.

The fact Myers enrolled on Monday is extremely important for Ohio State's offensive line moving forward. Why? Studrawa tapped Knox — a guy who broke his foot earlier in the season — to replace an injured Jordan with Matthew Burrell, Evan Lisle, Kyle Trout and a host of others standing on the sideline. That should tell you how dire things are up front right now for the Buckeyes. Myers is a massive kid and terrific run blocker. The Buckeyes need that.

Do you guys see Josh maybe being the starting Center after Billy graduates?

Not bad idea. Not to bash him, but he is behind on pass pro. He played wing-t in HS. This would give us a multi year starting center, a very athletic athletic one we can pull, and someone extremely strong to help on double teams

That would be a hell of an interior if we had him and Center and MJ and Wyatt Davis at Guards.

Watch him block down field, that's why I wouldn't put him at Center.

Mark my words, he'll be a captain at OSU. I have friends who are both teachers and coaches at Miamisburg High School and they all say what a great kid he is and that he is a role model to a lot of kids at MHS. My buddy dates the MH teacher there and when I was hanging out with them a few weeks ago she told me how Josh will sometimes come in her classroom just to say hi and offer to help with anything her and the other MH teachers need. They all say for a kid his size and high intensity on the field he is a giant teddy bear off the field.

Him all of the sudden becoming a 4-star is one of the many reasons why i've stopped taking star rankings seriously. He was a top 10-15 player in his class since he was a freshman and now right before signing day he drops? This has become so common for OSU recruits right before signing day.
