I have zero faith in Day making the changes needed. He needs to bring in a REAL OC, possibly new OL coach, and a real QB. I have been up and down on Day, but after watching that Cotton Bowl, I believe 2024 is make or break for Day. Win the conference, or you’re done. Positives are that he could have ALOT of defensive pieces coming back that can carry this team.
Yeah…I just don’t think he has what it takes. There’s a reason coaches and players call the program soft. This team is not physically soft, but mentally. Remember when Urban said he recruited players who would “choke you out over a game of checkers?” THAT’s what this team is missing! And it starts with Day!

It is my understanding that changes will happen..........not sure it will include a new offensive line coach....... I have heard their is a desire to bring someone in who can assist with the offense much like when we had Wilson....... The QB is on the way.......... The offensive line is a much greater concern going forward for me........

I totally agree that vast improvement in that room needs to happen, to include recruiting. We have consistently missed on quality kids the past few cycles......... For most of the year, I felt the line was trending upwards, so the question is, was last night just a bad night or does the room need a hard look..........

I am. Watching his tape. Not sure how you can't be. First clip vs Texas, saw more pocket presence than anything we saw this year. If Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day wanted Howard, that is all I need to know. I think putting him with the weapons we have, will greatly increase his production next year. I am actually optimistic. Is he Justin Fields? No, there were no QBs out there like that but I am very encouraged that Ryan Day can get the most out of Howard and I love his running ability. I am hoping for a huge leap, much like Bo Nix when he left Auburn to Oregon and Penix going to Washington.
I know he is an upgrade over McCord, but I’m saying in general, I feel like being excited that we got Will really points out how bad Day has been at QB recruiting in a couple of cycles
I respect you opinion but I think you have to take into consideration his jump from 2022 to 2023 regarding his passing and overall production. He is not throwing or surround by the talent that Ohio State will be able to put on the field. All we needed this year to beat Michigan was an upgrade at the quarterback position. I am optimistic and like I said, hopeful he makes a huge jump.
