Hilliard Comfortable in Ann Arbor............2015 Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier LB, Justin Hilliard was one of the top juniors in attendance during the memorable clash between Michigan & Ohio State last weekend. By the time the dust settled the Wolverines had definitely made a positive impression on the talented youngster.

I have a buddy that lives in Cincinnati and I asked him why so many kids from there like to leave the state or don't like Ohio State... He told be that the rest of Ohio likes to make the folks from Cincinnati feel like they are not Ohioans. Those of you who live there, is there any thruth to that?

He said that they are often times refered to as "North Kentucky" instead of Cincinnati Ohio...Not saying this is why kids leave, but he says it has a lot to do with it.

Hahahaha.... Cincinnatians have this City State attitude about themselves. They're not part of Ohio when they don't want to be, and they are when they want to be. They really have an independent mindset, and it's not because of anything anybody else does to them.

Sure 75% of the state roots for the Indians and Browns while we root for the Reds and Bengals
Sure 99.9% of the state roots for the Buckeyes, while they root for the Bearcats

But they do most of the attitude initiation.

I love Cincinnati, but there's no need to act like this, LOL. What are we, the New York of the midwest? LOL

My sister lives in Cincy and have a lot of friends who attended UC and there is a lot of different influences down in Cincy.

    1. Cincy has a lot of Catholic high school's and Notre Dame has a pretty big presence down there. They've landed a lot of good players from Cincy over the years.

    2. UK has a big presence in Cincy as well which leads to SEC homerism even though UK has never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever had an impact on college football. UK fan likes to brag about SEC superiority but they hide during the entire football season.

    3. The Cooper years. Cooper burned a lot of bridges with HS coaches during his time which lead to a lot of elite Ohio players, not just Cincy,to go to Notre Dame, TSUN and SEC schools.

    • LB Justin Hilliard, Cincinnati St. Xavier – Meyer refuses to allow top Ohio prospects to leave the state, and he vows that Kerry Coombs has helped Ohio State build a newfound relationship with Cincinnati. With Hilliard, a four-star prospect rated by Rivals the top inside linebacker in the 2015 class, Ohio State hopes both of those things will lead Hilliard to Columbus. Hilliard admitted that he's seen a disconnect between Cincinnati and Ohio State in the past, but he doesn't think it applies to him. Hilliard is closing in on 40 scholarship offers, but Ohio State remains in the thick of his recruitment.
