    Corey Linsley Updates

    * Asked about the personality of his senior class, Linsley said that they have a bunch of hard workers and guys that care. Regarding the BCS, he said they can only worry about how hard they work, and then that will be reflected in the season that they have.

    * On how far the team has come since 2011, he said “It's crazy, but it's not surprising given how hard we've worked.

    * Linsley said the winning streak doesn't really affect him, but winning 23 in a row would certainly be an accomplishment.

    * Linsley said that even though Urban Meyer praises them constantly, Ed Warinner does a nice job of keeping them in check.

    * Linsley said that they missed some simple assignments on Saturday and that's one reason why they had too many three and outs. He said that he didn't play very well. He said the team never felt like the game had gotten out of control. “I don't think we were ever anxious.â€

    * On Carlos Hyde, Linsley said, “He's one tough, fast, big dude.†He said that Hyde ran into him hard on a Sunday recently when the team was practicing without pads. “If that man runs into me like that on a no pads day, what's it gotta feel like for a defender?â€

    * Linsley said that Illinois didn't fight back last year, and they sort of expected them to do the same this year. He was comparing them last year to the Indiana game, and the Hoosiers certainly fought back, so he doesn't foresee any let up from the Buckeyes this week because they know what Indiana is capable of.

    * Linsley said that defenses are running all kinds of things to stop their running game. “They're starting to catch on to some of the things that we do best.†He cited an instance where the linebacker completely vacated his defense of Jeff Heuerman because he knew what was coming, and Linsley was unable to block him because he got through too quickly.

    * Linsley said that more than any other game, you have to play the Michigan game at a higher level, because Michigan will be playing at a higher level.

    * Linsley said that he watches Michigan when he can.

    * On the offense, Linsley said that he hopes the Buckeyes aren't peaking yet.

    * On Ryan Shazier, he said, “It's a heck of a time blocking that guy.â€

    Corey Linsley Updates

    * Asked about Taylor Lewan saying after the game that Ohio State wasn't the number three team in the nation, he said, “I guess he was right.â€

    * Linsley said they aren't paying any attention to the BCS situation right now. “That's the beauty of the position we're in.â€

    * Linsley said that it's reassuring that Urban Meyer has won conference championship games before. They'll do what he says, because he knows what he's doing in that regard.

    * Linsley said that having finals this week and next is tough. He said he had to go write a paper after interviews. He did say, however, that it allows them to stay focused on football and school, which is kind of nice.

    * He said that the MSU defense plays like the OSU defense back when Jim Tressel was the coach.

    * Asked if he thinks this offense can run on anybody, he said, “I feel that way now. That's the way we prepare.â€

    * He said that everything changed last year against Michigan State, and now everything is on the line for them against the Spartans again.

    * Linsley said that Marcus Hall is doing alright, but that he was completely distraught after the game. He said he waited in the locker room for Hall, who was busy having a talk with Urban Meyer. He told Hall that “it's just footballâ€, because Hall was acting like his life was over. He said he's constantly asking people for updates on Hall's status for Saturday's game.

    * Regarding the video of the team watching the end of the Auburn game on the bus, Linsley said, “I kind of wish that video hadn't gotten out.†He said he stopped paying attention, and then when everybody started reacting, it “scared the hell†out of him. He said that players were celebrating and that Philly Brown had to stand up and remind them that they were all acting like they didn't have another game to play on Saturday.

    * On the opportunity ahead of them, Linsley said, “Our dream is here. The Chase is real.â€

    * He said Michigan State is just so disciplined, that's really what sets them apart.

    Any word on his measurements??

I think he needs to be a legit 6'3" and I'm not sure he is over 6'1.5"

Where's Hollis this year with the vitals??

That's perfect. Especially for a guy throwing up 225 36 times! He will be a solid started for several years.

    That's ideal for a Center...

It may be tough for him to get drafted, after Brewster not getting drafted a few years ago, but I think he has a shot at the 6th round..

    Really? That's interesting...

Brewster was one of the best in the history of OSU...

I like them both, but I guess I never considered Linsley as above average, but he did play on some very good OLs so I'm probably under valueing him...

I hope he has a long NFL career...

    C Corey Linsley
Fifth-year senior center Corey Linsley, from Youngstown, Ohio and Boardman High School, has been the center of attention on the Ohio State offensive line for the past two seasons and earned all-Big Ten Conference honors each year. He made the transition from offensive guard/tackle to center in the spring of 2012 and proceeded to start every game in 2012 and 2013, a stretch of 26 games when the team won a school-record 24-consecutive games. He logged more than 1,600 plays from scrimmage those two seasons and graduated in December 2013 with his degree in economics.
