Jared Sullinger of Northland has been named the Associated Press Mr. Basketball for Ohio after voting by a statewide media panel.
Sullinger, a 6-foot-9, 255-pound junior forward who gave an oral commitment to Ohio State as a freshman, is averaging 19.9 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 67 percent from the field.
Only four juniors had ever claimed it: Jimmy Jackson, Greg Simpson, LeBron James and O.J. Mayo.
