As a defensive back at Ohio State University, Walton lettered four seasons and served as co-captain for the Big Ten champions in 1993. He earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from OSU in 1994. Walton and his wife, Tracy, have three children, Trei, Timia and Tyler. Tim Walton is in his first season as the Jaguars secondary coach – cornerbacks, his ninth season in the NFL and his 23rd year in coaching. He was hired by the organization on Jan. 16, 2019. From 2015-17, Walton served as the secondary/cornerbacks coach with the New York Giants.
