I read 2,600 in the Plain Dealer. That's more than $205,000 per home game more in ticket sales. Over the corse of next season, $1,437,800 in added ticket sales. I wish I had a good way to estimate concession sales with that. We're looking at at least a 1.5 million dollar addition to annual revenue. That makes the renovation (seats, turf, lights and concrete waterproofing) price tag of $13.7 million much easier to swallow.
Not to mention OSU saved a few bucks by replacing the turf a year early this year along with other additions, replacements, etc. Looks like Gene, Urban and company are doing a great job keeping the school going in the right direction.
I know everyone likes to hate on Gene Smith... But this is the work he does, and not just for the football program. The fumbled press conferences have little impact on the school.

Lights are all up on the west side. We'll light them up once completely wired. Hopefully by Monday. #TheShoe #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/AnAPnH0RiR— Gene Smith (@OSU_AD) July 9, 2014
I don't remember where I read it but I read that the school is done retiring numbers. Troy obviously deserves to have his number retired. I also think they should retire Korey Stringer's number. He was an All-American here and his number was retired by the Vikings, his alma mater should do the same.
I like the idea of honoring them by hanging it up, but don't retire the number. You would soon have 15 #'s retired and we would have three different players wearing the same #.
I think Virginia Tech retires jersey's but they don't retire numbers. I've seen Michael Vick and Bruce Smith jersey's around the stadium.
No offense but #75 should be retired before Smith. Pace was by far the best lineman to ever play at Ohio State and still one of the most decorated lineman to come out of College football.
So does the stadium not have a full band of lights on the east side of the stadium? It looks broken up in small sections from that picture.
