With todays media, you have to watch what you say about everything. Kobe got a little frustrated and said some things he doesn't mean and knew he shouldn't of said but a hundred thousand dollars seems a bit steep.

I heard Brian Kenney whining about Bryant's statement that he didn't apologize today on ESPN radio. What is it about our society where we now want people to give a half-assed apology when they obviously wouldn't mean it because we're asking for them to apologize for what they just said? Its a very strange practice that public figures have to go through each time these controversies pop up. But I do expect him to say something like "I Apologize to anyone I might have offended", which is no apology whatsoever. Although it was an insensitive comment (especially since he plays for L.A.) but when are we going to be real and just admit this is locker room dialogue and it always will be no matter how PC the media wants our athletes to behave.

This is on the same level as a white guy using the n-bomb toward somebody. There are just some words you don't use. Kobe is a grown man, he knows better.

Its pretty bad but I always get uncomfortable when people put what the sodomizers go through and compare it to the hundreds of years of what african americans had to endure in this country. I think it does a disservice to the civil rights movement. Its bad, BUT not even in the same ballpark as the 'same'.
