Yes...we have receivers open enough for JT to get it to them...I think he's looking for them to come wide open before throwing it. Definitely needs to trust his initial read. It's there.

    Pat Fitzgerald Updates

+ On his decision to kick a field goal down seven points: “It was a long fourth and goal first. But I had three options, either I go for it and don’t get it, kick a field goal or go for it and score a touchdown. I chose the decision in the middle. We had two chances to get stops on long third downs and we didn’t get it done. That’s on us as a coaching staff.”

    Clayton Thorson Updates

+ On the close loss to Ohio State: “Well, we would have liked to win obviously but there are no moral victories. We felt like we should have won but we didn’t make one play here and there. We want to win though - there are no moral victories and no one cares how close you come to winning.”

Our offensive line, although not where they need to be, looked improved from the Penn State game. It's important they continue to work hard in film and practice so JT can find time to get the ball to his receivers.

I know we have a young team but I'm amazed that we don't have a down field WR threat. We have recruited a lot of good receivers and to still not have a true downfield target is worrisome.

Like others have said, teams are starting to pick up on our tendencies (very vanilla) and no one gives an F about our passing game 10+ yards down the field. Our passing game will open up our running game and vice versa.

I'm speculating because I'm not watching practice, but maybe our play calling or our schemes are a little too advanced for a young team like ours. Are we complicating things too much where our guys have to think too much and simply can't go out and play football? I'm not saying have a #BasicOffense but maybe reduce the what ifs on pre snap calls.

Our guys are fast and talented............I think it is a combination of JT not letting it go and routes are a little off.........

JT is not throwing guys open..............is waiting for them to be WIDE open.......

Webb and Worley can NOT be on the field together at all its like playing 8 vs 11. I dont see how worley is our walk out backer over Baker

I agree...I think when/if Booker comes back he has to Plat over Worley, not Baker.

And like I've been saying, I'd love to see EGW get a shot at Safety over Webb.
