I am guessing if he didn't play today

It will be a while before we see him. Possibly next week, but I kinda doubt it. Jt is so loyal to the original starter, and unless he is convinced we can NOT win with him, I see him staying there.

It is really starting to get to me that we cannot run the ball. Our O-Line is doing an AWFUL job in creating holes for our RBs to run through. This has to to be fixed because Todd struggled when passing the ball today.

he's def not a running qb either. I could not believe the pass he made in the 1st quarter i believe... it was a long pass right to an akron player. Our receiver was no where around. I mean, you can't tell me boeckman didn't see that there wasn't a red shirt there to catch the ball

Yeah that was a bad pass that should never have been thrown. Our receiver slipped down and I think Todd just expected him to be there.

I think our experience at WR is starting to show. We played I believe 3 true freshman wide outs today and many of them had dropped passes and fumbles.

Chris Wells really picked it up today in the second half. 20 rushes for 146 yards, that's a 7.3 yard average. That's what we need to see.

Well that 72 yards on one drive contributed SIGNIFICANTLY...

Im REALLY disappointed in the performance today by everyone but the defense. This style of play can not continue. I believe tressel will get this fixed and he better fast. Washington is alot better team this year and we are gonna have a fight. The offensive line is just terrible. I never thought I would say that. Its not just 1 guy. Its all of them. Beanie came around but he also did not look even close to 100 percent. I hope the guys get after it this week in practice. If not its gonna be a rough year just as it is for michigan.

Our offensive line really has to get on the ball quickly. From what I have seen we have been getting pushed around and we haven't been able to open any holes from our RBs to run through.

Like Fireman said, Washington is a MUCH better team than YSU and Akron are. If we want to win next week we have to improve our run blocking.

Beanie, Mo, and Saine can't do anything if the Oline doesn't step it up.

I think we showed just how bad Akron was today. Good god what a disaster! 5 turnovers, not to mention other fumbles that we either picked up or the whistle was blown when it looked like a fumble. We were absolutely horrid on offense. Boeckman making horrible decisions, Beanie not being aggressive enough (until 4th quarter), HORRIBLE blocking scheme's. I mean do they not remember that Troy Smith now plays for the Baltimore Ravens? Boeckman is a slow pocket guy that is going to need a few extra seconds of protection. If they're going to stick to that blocking scheme, then I think we'd be better off having Schoenhoft back there since he can tuck it and run like Krenzel, perhaps better than Krenzel.

Defense played good, but not great. Granted they didn't give up any points, but there were missed tackles, missed assignments and a few blown coverages. Jenkins played outstanding and I liked how the LB's were physical and around the ball all day. DL made the plays like they are capable of. I don't know how Thad Gibson dropped that easy INT? I liked how the D played fast and nasty.

I'm now not feeling too confident going into Washington. They looked pretty solid and well coached today. If we don't do something about those turnovers and find a way to block better, it could be very ugly.

Where is Eugene Clifford? Where was Taurian Washington and Dane Sanzenbacher?

also, the defense had several chances for interceptions. The ball was in their hands and they couldn't hold on to it.

What is up with our defense not forcing a single turnover yet this season? Last year weren't we one of the best in TO ratio?

i know we had quite a few TO's last season! I mean we had a few today that should've been turn overs but people couldn't keep a hold of the darn ball

Yeah I believe so. I know we were forcing TOs at a very good rate and factor in Troy and Co. hardly ever turning it over. We may have been a bit spoiled by that last season.

    Oline

I think if they can step it up and actually block someone, all aspects of our O will be much improved.

Your right. By the oline doing their jobs it opens up the running game. Which then opens up the passing game. I think thats why todd looked horrible at times was because of the oline. He never knew how much time he had. That was proven by him dumping the ball for short passes. We cannot have another game like that by our oline. If so its a long season ahead of us.
