Did anyone else hear Andre Ware talking about Ohio State going for "style points" after the fake punt and TD pass? SHUT UP WARE.....!!! If these other teams go for the style points, they move up in the polls but you think Ohio State is doing it and you criticize them? Are you and the other Espin analysts ripping Florida and Urban Cryer when they're up 45-6 and Tebow is still in the game with 3 mins to go throwing it to the endzone? Like I said Ware, SHUT UP YOU DOUCHE!
Glad the Buckeyes had a great game today. We needed this for our confidence as the season closes down. I'm glad we kept scoring. We need style point.
I am strongly against "style points," but I don't think Tressel had intentions to put "style points" on NW. The fake punt was done to put the game away, and NW has shown that they have the ability to come back from being down. Beyond that, Tress isn't going to put in Todd just to run the clock, I'm sure he feels sympathy and respect for him, enough to let him throw the ball some. And, with the exception of close game situations, I am against taking a knee, when you have the chance to get backup RB's some reps. Game experience is priceless, and it shouldn't be wasted... It just so happens that Boom was good enough to shake 3 guys and score 6.
I don't think the fake punt or the late td run was meant to be a slap in the face... the Buckeyes just had to win and win big ... mainly because everyone else is. I do believe style points are very important.
At least Tressel showed his displeasure about the last TD. However, I think we need some style points right now because our offense hasn't looked very good on the national stage.
Not sure if anyone else noticed it, but when the head coaches shook hands at the end of the game, Fitzgerald just said "thanks Jim," in a pretty sarcastic/angry way... The way we handled them in Chicago in one of their better seasons in a while, and the reaction from Fitzgerald kind of make me happy we don't see them again 'till 2011

You can't fault Boom for wanting to get that TD. Any other RB would have done the same thing. I don't understand why this is such a big deal? Oklahoma, Florida, USC among others run the score up on everyone when they get the chance but when we do it, it's like "oh my gosh, how classless." I'm glad we kept scoring... maybe that's what we needed... who knows I'm just a fan... but sometimes you need to be a little selfish in this game.
Exactly what I've been sayin! Just finished watching Texas Tech run the score up on Oklahoma State 55-20, the same point spread as Ohio State's 45-10 win. But was Texas Tech's offense classless and dealing a low blow by running up the score on Okie St? Of course not, they only talked about how great the offense is looking. This is what's wrong with the Big 10, you start thinking that outscoring your opponent 45-10 is a bad thing. The coaches in the Big 10 are too worried about being pals on the field instead of doing whatever it takes to win like coaches in the rest of the BCS conferences.
Rumor has it- That Northwestern lineman deliberately tried to take Jermale Hines out of the game today with an illegal chop block. It was similar to a play that Northwestern tried to pull on us last year. Fitzgerald was apparently smiling and "yuckin' it up" on the sideline after the play and Tressel got upset about that. And it showed through play calling.
It's a sad day when a coach gets the reputation of only kicking field goals and when he finally does score a few points the other coach is mad. Don't let it bother you "Field goal Jimmie" you owe them nothing.
We didn't "run it up" but regardless, if we did and you don't like us trying to score: PLAY DEFENSE & STOP US!
