I just made the switch from Chrome to Safari and man I don't know what took me so long. I really enjoy the extensions on Chrome but any time I'm on here for more than 20 minutes, it automatically marks ALL threads read and it's a pain in the rump to go track down what I missed. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me? Plus what browsers do you like most?
I switched back to Safari a couple of weeks ago. Chrome has a lot of perks, especially the cross-device browsing. When I jump from my work machine to my phone to my tablet to my home machine, my Google account keeps track of my tabs/windows open and I can continue my browsing no matter the platform. But, Chrome has seemed to have gotten much heavier (memory-wise) over the last year, especially the way it handles multiple tabs. Safari has finally caught back up to Chrome and Firefox for the things I need a browser for.
Does IE just mean a regular computer?? I'm not a :nerd: so I really don't know... If I went to school about 5-7 years later like a lot of y'all did, I would know a shizz ton more about this stuff.... I graduated HS in 2000 and didn't go to college so I just missed out on the computer rush....
IE is the default browser that comes with MS Windows. It used to suck really really really bad in Windows XP. The current version is actually not that bad from what I've heard but I still don't trust it. The biggest problems with IE were security related. It was far too easy to get viruses and other malware just by going to regular websites. Firefox came in with built in pop up blockers and other security tools and locked that down. Still many people who had no idea what was going on would just use IE by default. Security wasn't the only concern. IE is what drove most web development professionals to drinking because for the longest time (and still to some degree) IE would just flat out ignore industry standard conventions and not support certain things so you had to bend over backwards to try to make it compatible. Now it's less of a concern, partly because IE is a bit better and partly because we have to do that for mobile devices anyway so it feels a lot less out of the ordinary for us. I see Chrome and Firefox on about an even footing right now. There are certain addons in Firefox that I like for the work I do, but Chrome seems a bit sleeker. At least that was the case about 6 months ago when Firefox was extremely bloated and Chrome was pretty sleek. Now things seem to have leveled out a bit with Firefox's newer versions and Chrome having some of its own memory issues. Ultimately they're both pretty good though. Safari..... what are you Apple f*gs? Hipsters :toetap05:
Oh...In that case, I'm on IE right now here at work.. I just click on an icon that says Internet Explorer and do work son... My computer guy was here a couple months ago and asked me if I wanted him to install Firefox on my computers...I told him I don't need no stinkin foxes in my computers.... That's really what I told him because I had no idea what he was talkin' bout...:noidea: And Einstein....You are a FireFox Fag....Apple rules bitch...
Nope, we're people who made a smart investment and now don't have to buy anti-virus crap every year and have a computer/laptop that is very durable and will last up to a decade unlike most PC's that are useless after 3-4 years. This is my first Mac, I was PC since the late 90's and making the switch to Mac is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I used to be an Apple hater, too.
I only say this, being the third option kinda guy I am, in defense of some pc/firefox users, some us take the time to build our own pcs, and good ones at that. It's all about what you want it to do, for what amount of cost, effort, and time you're willing to put into it, just like another hobby in life. Some of us are just diy nerds.
I use Chrome on my computer and I am pleased with it. I use Safari on my iPhone and it works great as far as I'm concerned. Is Safari that much better on the computer than Chrome?
