MESSIAH MICKENS Ohio State has offered its first running back in the 2026 class as Messiah Mickens picked up an offer from the Buckeyes over the weekend. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Mickens has picked up seven Division I offers heading into his sophomore season, also including Alabama, Kent State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. In 13 games for Trinity High School (Camp Hill, Pennsylvania) this season, Mickens ran for 961 yards on 123 carries (7.8 yards per carry) with three 100-yard rushing games and 18 rushing touchdowns. He added 16 catches for 200 yards in the receiving game. Mickens joins Georgia quarterback Julian Lewis, Ohio wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., Florida wide receiver Malachi Toney, Georgia defensive end Tyler Atkinson and Florida safety Justice Fitzpatrick as 2026 prospects who have received Ohio State offers so far.

2026 RB MESSIAH MICKENS COMMITS TO PENN STATE One of Ohio State’s early running back targets for the 2026 class is off the board. Four-star Pennsylvania tailback Messiah Mickens opted to stay home, committing to the Nittany Lions on Saturday. Obviously, it’s still incredibly early in that cycle, but for now, OSU will look at different options. The lone other running back with an Ohio State offer in the 2026 class thus far is Florida prospect Javian Mallory, though there will be no doubt be other prospects that emerge on OSU’s radar between now and that class’ signing day, which remains over two years away.
