Gause was not alone the only RB to receive an offer from the Buckeyes Monday as 2025 RBGideon Davidson of Lynchburg Virginia also received an offer from the Buckeyes. The blue-chip running back has only played one season of high school football, but in that season he showed enough to have already earned nearly 10 scholarship offers, including from the likes of Ohio State, Liberty, Louisville, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Look for Ohio State to get the Virginia native on campus multiple times in the coming years as he looks to continue to improve his game. He has not yet received any rankings yet but expect him to be viewed highly when he does.
DAVIDSON PICKS UP OSU OFFER Virginia 2025 running back Gideon Davidson also picked up a Buckeyes offer Monday. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Davidson, who helped lead Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, Virginia) to a 13-1 record last season, has received nine offers so far. The other eight are Liberty, Louisville, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
DAVIDSON VISITING FOR NOTRE DAME GAME Normally, social media announcements from recruits concerning school visit plans are very informal. 2025 Virginia running back Gideon Davidson took his a bit more seriously. Davidson, who received an offer from Tony Alford on June 13, is one of many recruits planning to attend the Buckeyes’ season opener against Notre Dame on Sept. 3. While his 2022 season has yet to officially start, Davidson has already shown why Ohio State is interested in his talents. He had a monster showing in Liberty Christian Academy’s (Lynchburg, Virginia) preseason game Friday, scoring three first-half touchdowns, including this impressive one-handed grab. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound tailback currently holds nine Division I offers, also including Liberty, Louisville, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

DAVIDSON TO VISIT OSU SATURDAY Port won’t be the only high-profile 2025 prospect in attendance Saturday. Four-star Virginia running back Gideon Davidson is also expected to be in Columbus for OSU’s rivalry matchup against Michigan. This will be Davidson’s second gameday visit to OSU this fall, as he was in attendance for the season-opening win against Notre Dame. “It was an epic experience,” Davidson told Eleven Warriors of his visit in September. “I connected with coach Tony Alford and met coach Day. The game staff was outstanding. The atmosphere here at the game was crazy good. The game was won in the second half by the running backs. Ohio State values the run game and I like that a lot. I will be back.” Though Davidson does not hold a composite ranking, he’s considered the 19th-best prospect in 2025 per 247Sports and the top-rated running back. In the regular season for Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, Virginia), Davidson ran for more than 1,400 yards on 140 carries with 23 rushing touchdowns. He has 13 Division I offers to this point, including Louisville, Miami, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina and USC.
DAVIDSON TO CAMP WITH OHIO STATE THIS SUMMER One of the top running backs in the 2025 class has confirmed he will take another visit to Ohio State. Four-star Virginia tailback Gideon Davidson told Eleven Warriors he plans on camping at Ohio State in June despite already holding an offer from the Buckeyes. Mutual interest in Davidson exists on OSU’s part, as running backs coach Tony Alford visited Davidson at Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, Virginia) in December. In the regular season for Liberty Christian Academy, Davidson, who picked up his Ohio State offer on June 13, ran for more than 1,400 yards on 140 carries with 23 rushing touchdowns. He took a gameday visit to Columbus on Sept. 3 for the season-opening win against Notre Dame. “Epic experience,” Davidson said of his OSU visit in September. “Connected with coach Alford. Met coach Day. The game staff was outstanding. The atmosphere here at the game was crazy good. The game was won in the second half by the running backs. Ohio State values the run game, and I like that a lot. I will be back.”
