The final offer of the day was Jackson, who was born with a great running back name. Jackson was one of the more impressive backs at camp, particularly when it came to showing off his pass-catching skillset. OSU is Jackson's second Division I offer, with Kentucky being the other.

Jackson, who just received his offer from Ohio State on Tuesday, was also impressive despite his team’s loss to Roman Catholic. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect lined up at both running back and defensive back for Cleveland St. Joes, which split its team into two separate squads to get more players reps. He intercepted two passes on defense, including one while guarding Denmark. He also made a dynamic play on offense by catching a long wheel route that gave his team a 1st-and-goal situation.

“My best asset on the field is speed and strength, I work on that a lot,” Jackson told Eleven Warriors. “I’m starting to get a lot better at catching the ball (out of the backfield).”

Following the contest, Ryan Day came over to Jackson to congratulate him on his effort and told him he’d like to get the running back on campus again before school started.

It was a cool moment for Jackson to be acknowledged by the Buckeyes’ head coach for the second time in a single week, as his relationship with Ohio State has only just taken off. He received an OSU offer from Day on Tuesday after a terrific performance at the Buckeyes’ fourth camp of the summer. Ohio State is only the second school to offer him along with Kentucky.

“It felt good, it’s been a dream school since I was a little kid,” Jackson said of the Ohio State offer. “After the camp, I went into a room with coach Day and he offered me. He told me he liked what he saw at camp and gave me the offer.”

    13. BO JACKSON, RB
He might not yet be the most famous running back ever named Bo Jackson, but the 2025 prospect from Cleveland was impressive in his own right during two camp appearances at Ohio State in the span of just three days.

Jackson earned an offer from Ohio State after working out as a running back at OSU’s June 14 camp, where the 5-foot-11, 180-pound running back showed impressive route-running ability and pass-catching skill out of the backfield.

Two days later, Jackson returned to Ohio State alongside his Villa Angela-St. Joseph teammates to participate in OSU’s 7-on-7 tournament. While his team was eliminated in the first round of tournament play, Jackson was impressive playing defensive back in the loss, intercepting two passes against Philadelphia’s Roman Catholic High School.

Ohio State was just the second school to offer Jackson after Kentucky, but with the potential he showed as an athlete in those two camps, it won’t be a surprise if many more offers come his way.

JACKSON THRILLED TO RECEIVE OSU OFFER
Over Ohio State’s summer recruiting camp circuit, there was no shortage of talented running backs.

From 2024 four-star talents Stacy Gage and Jordan Marshall, to potential future five-star 2025 running back Donovan Johnson, plenty of highly-touted recruits showcased their skills in Columbus.

Perhaps one of the most underrated running backs in the entire camp circuit is 2025 Ohio running back Bo Jackson. Besides sharing a name with a Hall of Fame running back, Jackson showcased his talents as a receiving running back along with top-tier agility when he camped with the Buckeyes on June 14.

It was enough to earn an offer from Ohio State, his second Division I offer of his recruitment. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Cleveland prospect now has three offers in total, the other two being Kentucky and Pittsburgh.

“It felt good, it’s been a dream school since I was a little kid,” Jackson told Eleven Warriors last month of the Ohio State offer. “After the camp, I went into a room with coach Day and he offered me. He told me he liked what he saw at camp and gave me the offer.”

Jackson returned to Columbus two days after camping with the Buckeyes to participate in a seven-on-seven tournament for Cleveland St. Joes, which split its team into two separate squads to get more players reps. He played both ways, lining up at running back and playing defensive back, being tasked with guarding fellow Ohio State target 2024 wide receiver Tyseer Denmark.

In a single-elimination tournament, Jackson finished the game with two interceptions on defense and made a long gain for St. Joes on offense by catching a wheel route for a long gain.

“My best asset on the field is speed and strength, I work on that a lot,” Jackson said. “I’m starting to get a lot better at catching the ball (out of the backfield).”

Following the contest, Day came over to Jackson to congratulate him on his effort and told him he’d like to get the running back on campus again before school started. It’s likely more visits to OSU are in Jackson’s future down the road.
