KAMRYN JONES PICKS UP OSU OFFER A new wide receiver target has appeared on Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting board. The Buckeyes extended an offer to California prospect Kamryn Jones earlier this month, making him only the fourth wideout OSU has offered in the cycle. Other wideouts offered include Dakorien Moore, Winston Watkins Jr. and Jaime French. Jones received the offer from Ryan Day personally. The Buckeyes were Jones’ ninth Power Five offer, with the other eight consisting of Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisville, Washington, Boston College and Nebraska. In two games this season for St. John Bosco (Bellflower, California), Jones caught two passes for 80 yards and a touchdown while playing for one of the most star-studded high school programs in the country. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout does not yet hold a composite ranking from 247Sports, but with his recruiting pedigree and size, he figures to be among the nation’s most-coveted recruits in the cycle going forward.
In mid-December, California wideout Kamryn Jones became the fifth wideout Ohio State offered in the 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout was humbled the offer came from head coach Ryan Day himself. “I was really excited, especially since one of my favorite receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr. goes to Ohio State,” Jones told Eleven Warriors of his reaction to the offer. “It was a really good experience. I got to talk to coach Day and I was just really excited when I got the offer. “He told me he likes my ability to get in and out of my breaks and how fast I am. He also likes how I can make a defensive back miss and that he’s excited to see me grow.” The Buckeyes were Jones’ ninth Power-Five offer, with the other eight consisting of Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisville, Washington, Boston College and Nebraska. Jones is primarily an outside receiver but doesn’t mind lining up in the slot occasionally. He also figures to have a much larger role on the field next season. “I can go up and get the ball and take the top off defenses,” Jones said of his top on-field attributes. Meanwhile, Jones said he hasn’t had much interaction with Brian Hartline as of yet, but looks forward to getting to know Ohio State’s offensive coordinator. “I heard he’s a great wide receivers coach, I’d love to get to go to Ohio State and get to chop it up with him,” Jones said. But the California product is all too familiar with OSU’s track record of success at developing wide receivers. “The way Ohio State puts wide receivers out is incredible. Chris Olave was one of my favorite wide receivers to watch. They just put lots of guys out.” Jones said he and Day have talked about he and his family taking a visit to Columbus in the spring, and the wideout is hopeful he’ll make his first trip to OSU then. “I can’t wait to see the campus and see the classrooms. I’m really more of a classroom type of guy, football comes second in my opinion.” Meanwhile, Ohio State offered three more prospects in the past 24 hours. We'll delve into each of those prospects offered below.
