Ohio State’s latest offer on the hardwood
With how big this weekend is for Ohio State’s football program in terms of both the result and for recruiting, of course it’s Day’s staff that receives most of the attention. Over on the hardwood, Chris Holtmann and the hoops staff have also been keeping busy with recruiting efforts of their own. Whether it be staying in touch with their top targets or even offering new prospects, the Buckeyes are showing no signs of stopping as they look to keep their 2022 class that is currently ranked atop of the country per 247Sports in that spot.

Late Tuesday night the latest Ohio State basketball offer came to light with 2023 prospect Matas Buzelis. A long and lengthy 6-foot-10, 175 pound small forward out of New Hampshire, Buzelis is really seeing his recruitment stock continuing to pick up steam with several programs. Currently, Buzelis is ranked as the nation’s 27th best player overall as well as the seventh best at his position for the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite. Additionally, Matas is the second best player out of New Hampshire in this 2023 cycle.

With double digit offers to his name already, Buzelis is well deserving of his high four-star status, and has further proved that on the AAU circuit as well as his prep team. Schools such as Wake Forest, Illinois, Arizona, Florida State, and now Ohio State among a handful of others are currently in the fold, and it’s probably only a matter of time before more top schools enter the scene.

A lot of the attention has been directed at the Buckeyes and their 2022 class due to it’s success, but Holtmann and his crew are looking to do much of the same in 2023 as they continue to build strong rosters with key depth. With this latest offer, it further gets the ball rolling for a solid run in the next cycle as well.
