If either of the Bucks’ two latest running back targets join the program, they would potentially be running behind a pair of 2021 offensive tackles recently offered, including fellow IMG product J.C. Latham.

Latham is a four-star prospect who was originally a defensive end ranked No. 6 in America at the position. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder, however, is being recruited by Ohio State to pair with 2021 offensive tackle commit Ben Christman.

Latham, who also holds offers from Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wisconsin, announced his offer from the Buckeyes on Monday night,

A Mississippi native, Latham played football in Wisconsin before moving to IMG. And though he started his prep career as a defensive line prospect, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound athlete is being recruited by Ohio State as an offensive tackle. Unlike a large percentage of young players who are asked to consider that positional change, he’s not fighting it.

In fact, Latham made the move to offense just three weeks ago, but he has quickly become a legitimate prospect at the position.

There’s been a lot of smoke coming out of this offer, and Latham is definitely a real target to watch for the Buckeyes moving forward as a potential bookend with 2021 commitment Ben Christman. If things continue to develop between these two sides, there’s a definite possibility Latham leaves a planned November visit to Ohio State as a commit himself.

Buckeyes make cut for Florida lineman J.C. Latham
It’s the end of the season for a lot of high school prospects, and that means it’s the time of the year when college choices are being narrowed down as recruits plan their next wave of visits.

One recruit who has been very high on Ohio State since his April visit is IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) offensive lineman J.C. Latham. The first-year offensive line prospect cut his list to 10 schools on Friday, and the Buckeyes are still in the mix.

Latham is one of a handful of offensive linemen worth paying close attention to as Ohio State turns its focus at the position to the 2021 cycle.

    BUCKEYES IN OL'S TOP 10
Junior offensive lineman JC Latham out of IMG Academy in Florida announced on Friday that Ohio State is in his narrowed list of top 10 schools.

Latham is an IMG teammate of Buckeyes 2020 cornerback commit Lejond Cavazos, in addition to IMG players with Ohio State offers in 2021 offensive lineman Greg Crippen (a Notre Dame commit) and 2022 running back Kaytron Allen.

The news doesn't come as a surprise that Latham has Ohio State on his final list of schools, and the Buckeyes have a solid shot at landing the 6-foot-5, 285-pound talent ranked as the No. 13 offensive tackle in the country.

Latham is set to visit Columbus next weekend for the Penn State game to try and continue building his relationships with Greg Studrawa and the rest of the Buckeye coaching staff.

J.C. Latham will make visit to Ohio State for Penn State game
In Sunday’s edition of Dotting the ‘Eyes we talked a little bit about IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) 4-star offensive line prospect J.C. Latham, who recently released his top-10 schools and included Ohio State in that list.

On Monday, the 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman — who began playing along up front just this season — announced his next college visit. He’ll be heading to Columbus for the big game against Penn State this weekend.

Latham, who is originally from Wisconsin, last visited Ohio State in April. That trip saw him spend most of his time with 5-star defensive end prospect and Buckeyes commitment Jack Sawyer. Look for Sawyer to be close to Latham again this weekend despite the knee surgery he underwent last Wednesday.

Ohio State impresses top offensive line target J.C. Latham
When he visited Ohio State in April, J.C. Latham was a defensive line prospect who was getting familiar with the Buckeyes program.

As he returned to the school over the Penn State game weekend, he’s a top 100-ranked offensive tackle prospect who has become one of the priorities for Ohio State in the 2021 recruiting class. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman made his way to town with his younger brother Langston, and he saw everything that the Buckeyes could offer him.

“It really opened my eyes about my future,” Latham told Lettermen Row. “They showed me what I could do on and off the field.”

Latham, who plays at the IMG Academy and is originally from Wisconsin, spent the weekend visiting family in Akron. He’s comfortable in Ohio and at home with the Buckeyes. With offers from LSU, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma and more than 20 others, he’s a prospect with a number of options — but Ohio State has done well to position themselves from here.

“It’s the relationship they’ve built with me and my family — the coaches and the fans, coming up to me and my family, making sure we were OK,” he said. “[Ohio State] makes sure your future is secure even if — God forbid — I get injured. They make sure you get an education and a shot at the league.”

Right now, the Buckeyes are near the top of the list for Latham, and he’s not sure what is coming next in his recruitment.

“They are definitely up there,” he said. “I don’t know what my future holds, and I don’t know yet about other visits.”

    LATHAM SETS COMMIT DATE
As we said above, Ohio State's offensive line recruiting is starting to gain significant momentum with Donovan Jackson's commitment on Wednesday adding to what could end up being a terrific O-line haul for Greg Studrawa and Ryan Day.

That haul could end up including JC Latham, one of the Buckeyes' top priorities in the trenches in the 2021 class, and the IMG Academy product has now set a commitment date. Latham told SI All-American's John Garcia Jr. that he plans on committing April 18, on his little sister's birthday.

Latham told Eleven Warriors in late November that Ohio State and LSU are his top two options, and that remains true today.
