Sources: Memphis center Jonas Valanciunas plans to decline the $17.6M option on 2019-20 contract, clearing way to become a free agent. His primary intention will be to negotiate a new deal with Memphis, where he averaged 19.9 PPG and 10.7 RPG after February trade from Toronto.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 13, 2019

The Lakers, thus far, are sticking to their no-Kuzma trade posture ... but let’s see if they maintain it with the draft only a week away now. L.A. knows it likely needs to land Anthony Davis before June 30 to become a factor in chasing a prime free agent to join a LeBron/AD duo— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) June 13, 2019
According to Chris Hayes of Yahoo Sports, the Warriors expect Klay Thompson (knee) is expected to miss up to nine to 10 months. Thompson tore his left ACL late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ loss Thursday in Game 6. Klay is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and was fully expected to ink a max contract with the Warriors. However, per Hayes, "the offseason could now get a little complicated for the sharpshooter." Still, it would still be surprising if the Warriors let Klay leave, considering how important he's been to the franchise, and plenty of teams will likely be willing to offer him max money.
According to a report in the Boston Herald, Kyrie Irving is prepared to sign with the Brooklyn Nets when he becomes a free agent next month. Kyrie officially declined his player option for the 2019-20 season earlier this week, and then parted ways with his agent to join ROC Nation Sports. The rumors of Irving heading to Brooklyn continue to pick up steam, as multiple outlets have now claimed Kyrie is locking in on the Nets.
According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Raptors will allow Kawhi Leonard to pick his desired amount of years, ranging from one to five, on his new contract. It goes without saying the Kawhi is obviously in the driver's seat when it comes to negotiations. The Raps will do whatever it takes to keep him north of the border. The most Toronto can offer is a five-year worth $189.7 million. However, Leonard may prefer a shorter, three-year pact, which allows him to opt out and sign another max deal, when he turns 30. It will be fascinating to see how this situation plays out this summer.
