I'm sure some have you have seen the story. But if you haven't, Stewart's car ran over and killed an on-foot driver at a Sprint car race in upstate New York Saturday night.

Don't feel like posting a link to the story because they all seem to contain a video of the incident. Feel free to search CNN or Deadspin if you want more updates.

The guy should not have walked out onto the track like he did, but I do feel like Tony Stewart swerved at him. Probably was trying to spook him and ended up hitting him. Very sad.

There's too much history of Tony Stewart being a temperamental jackass for me to believe that it was 100% an accident.

Do you think any charges come from this? It's a very sad situation.

I think we was swerving to scare him and over judged it. But other driver had no reason to go out into the middle of a dirt track with cars still going 50 mph. both are in fault IMO.

He won't be charged. The biggest thing they're looking at thus far, is the fact the Ward got out of his car and walked out onto the track. I just don't get why. If you're pissed, confront him after the race in the pits. And I don't think Stewart swerved to hit or scare. The car in front of him nearly got him first, so he had a split second to react.

Do they have communication with a Crew Chief in a dirt series like that?

So he should have tickled Tony after the race?

Good grief, the "get out of the car and yell at the other guy's car" trend just went over the edge. This has been the stupidest of any sporting trend that I've ever seen. Not only is it completely pointless (like the other guy can hear what you're saying), but it's also very dangerous... as illustrated. Sad for this to happen, and I'm sure Tony isn't 100% innocent, but this whole thing could have been prevented. Stupid.

Only way you prevent drivers from getting out of their car to confront another driver on the course is to suspend them w/o pay. It's way too dangerous.

Or (not to seem calloused) have something like this happen...

It baffles me how many people want to put All the blame Tony. My favorite is when people say Tony shouldn't be allowed to race at dirt tracks because he's a pro.

I can buy that. It's a tough case to prove...
