JT misses Coach Herman. I think our playcalling woes from last season have been resolved, but I wonder about that coach in the QB room throughout the week. How much better is JT now (passing) than he was in mid 2014? Or Cardale in 2015 compared to 2014? We saw Braxton's progress in the passing game, Kenny's, JT's and Cardale's readiness... I think that speaks to mid-week preparation, and JT's tentativeness in the passing game leads me to believe that preparation is wanting. This school went a long time with lousy QB coaching, let's not do that again
JT missed 2-3 deep TD passes down the field by over/underthrowing his WRs. He needs to continue to work on his accuracy. I didn't mind the play calling in this one. I just think JT had a bad game. Beck put the plan out there, and JT made the right reads. He just couldn't hit his WRs. Side note: that int that led to an IU TD was absolute BS. Baugh is turning into a liability in our passing game, and he whiffed on some key blocks as well. I hope Urb hits the recruiting trail hard for a TE to light a fire under Baugh's ass.
Great post. I went to the game with my wife. JT had two of the worst under throws I have seen, Campbell had to come back to break one up. He had a horrible over throw to James Clark which would have been an easy score. Even when JT had a clean pocket he looked panicked. Noah Brown dropped that TD catch at the goal line which sucked bad. Honestly though cannot blame the play calling, if JT hits a few of those throws the game would have been a blow out.

Indiana Head Coach Kevin Wilson Updates + On stopping JT Barrett’s passing game: “We were lucky. Sometimes it was guys that just didn’t connect. But that’s why you have a good defense and a good running game. In my opinion, from afar, I think that he is one of the best quarterback’s in college football. He might have been off today, but that’s a good football player. I think J.T. is an awesome football player.” On coming up short today: "We don’t make the game, opponent, or arena any bigger. We just go out there and play the best that we can. We made mistakes and we will go home and address it. Our offense has to be smart and attack a little bit more. Except for those mistakes, it was a close game."
