One thing that I don't like that came out of this...

    We offered Boucher.

Clemson has 1 WR in this year's recruiting class and 3 from the class of 2008.

    2009: Bryce McNeal - 4* - 40th ranked WR according to Scout.com

    2008: Jaron Brown - 3* - 56th ranked WR according to Scout.com
    Branden Ford - 3* - 64th ranked WR according to Scout.com
    Marquan Jones - 3* - 70th ranked WR according to Scout.com

Also in the 2008 class Clemson picked up 2 QB's. 2007 they picked up Willy Korn who should be the starter at Clemson this year and next.

If i'm Boucher I tell Ohio State thanks, but no thanks. It's obvious the staff see's him as an emergency offer just to fill the depth-chart at QB. The staff is going to go after Gardner and Miller even harder......that's what she said.

Well, keep in mind last year the odd circumstances which netted us Zack Domicone. You can hardly say he was our first choice. I understand what you're saying, but I've seen stranger.

When I saw this on SC I was like "uh oh, bet the guys on SB are so mad right now..."
But um, OSU does have other QBs to pick up? That's what i'm guessing from what you guys are saying.

I'm confident in landing Gardner and Miller. Not getting Boyd will be a blessing in disguise.

Not gonna lie... I was a little mad he didn't pick us but I think Braxton Miller and Gardner will be better than him.

I heard that he committed to Tress during his visit and he also reaffirmed his commitment tuesday morning and he even called tress and said that he was comin and asked if he could wear number 10. He also did the same thing at Oregon. His character is now really in question, and that would not fly with Tress. Who cares. Ill play QB if we need one... lol

All that is true. I wouldn't be suprised if he changes his mind before or even after signing day.

There isn't a bigger Braxton Miller fan on this site than I am.

If that's going to be his attitude I don't want him changing his mind and coming to OSU.

What can anyone say at this point except it is a roller coaster.........

Boyd told each staff the same thing.........even asking the tOSU staff for a certain #.......thus we have chaos and disappointed fans..........move on to Boucher, Gardner and Miller...........

I want him to call Tressel so bad and ask if he can come here and Tressel tell Boyd what he told Darrell Givens. "Thanks, but no thanks. You had your chance and we're moving on."

Boucher is not an emergency offer..........he is not just an offer for depth at the quarterback position........

The staff liked Boyd better.......Boucher was second on the list, they have been keeping tabs on him for most of the season.........this is not a last second offer...........Boyd goes elsewhere........the staff offers........nothing more, nothing less.......it happens every year.........Boucher is under the radar but that does not mean he is not a legit D-1 prospect..........I don't believe the staff offers kids who are not worthy.......

There is no plan B recruits...........they slot the guys as they see fit and go from there.........

I didn't say he wasn't a legit D1 prospect, I think his commitment to Toledo and Miami speaks for itself. I also even said Boucher was indeed OSU material. I just don't think he has much of chance to play when the staff clearly think very highly of Devin Gardner and Braxton Miller. Maybe it was unfair of me to call Boucher an emergency offer, but there were other QB's OSU pursued before Boyd de-committed from Tennessee and Boucher was not one of them. They may have contacted him, but there were 2 or 3 other QB's OSU went after before Boucher.

As far as I can remember only two quarterback prospects actually received offers this year.........looking and offering are two seperate things.......

A few years ago we signed a top 5 quarterback in the nation.....Justin Zwick......Troy Smith was offered very late that year and most called the offer a waste........time will tell.........

Yeah but the difference between Troy Smith and Austin Boucher is that Troy had offers from other BCS schools.

I'm not trying to say Boucher isn't good enough or a wasted scholarship offer. I just think with the 2 QB's OSU is planning on getting in the next 2 years will likely be ahead of Boucher on the depth-chart.
