Haven't seen this much criticisn of an OSU coaching staff since the NC game vs Florida, and it's well deserved.
When was the last time we played great against a good opponent? Until we do the criticism wont be beating a dead horse And on the topic of the game the only thing im looking forward to is the return of noah spence because performances against kent state dont mean much
If anything I don't care if we win by 70 or just 3 pts. We need to find an identity on both sides of the ball.
Surprised nobody has said it yet but we (obviously) need to run off some wins but we desperately need VT to do the same for a while if we want to be in any conversations around bowl season. If they can run through their conference schedule for a while and watch most of the other big conferences beat each other up there's a shot they could eventually crack the top 5-7. If they don't we may as well have lost to a MAC school. Of course none of that matters if we're not rattling off W's for the Scarlet and Gray. Herman needs to step up his game - or we need to take Urban's headset from him for a game and see what happens. Anyone think he may be vetoing calls from Herman upstairs? Wins, please! That starts with Kent State! Anxious to see how angry we play on D and relaxed we play on O.
If Elliot, Wilson, and Samuel don't get a combined 40 touches or more, something will be horribly wrong Saturday. Establish the run early and often!
I wonder if we finally see a 60 yd breakout run by Dontre on offense. We need to get the ball to our playmakers right out of the gate.
At this point I think we see Samuel break one before Wilson. Dontre seems to juke a lot and then get stepped on. Seems like he can break dance in a phone booth but can't run across the street to save his life. Been waiting on him to prove me wrong.
Erick Smith is starting on special teams this week, and is getting close to seeing game reps at safety..
