My only complaint about the game today.....not enough pressure on the QB and I point my finger at the DL. KSU's QB's had all day to throw and we couldn't get any pressure on them until they scrambled around for a few seconds then eventually got taken down. The DL is the one group out of the whole team that needs the most improvment IMO.

I don't like how we couldn't stop the rushing attack. I know the guy was small but jeez!!

Well the guy is/was 5th in the nation in rushing and 14th in the nation in total yards. KSU blocked pretty well all day and we couldn't get any pressure on the QB. Hopefully it will be a wake-up call for the DL and they improve before we go up against Javon Ringer and MSU.

Call me crazy but I'm kind of glad our running D struggled this game. It will give them extra incentive to improve and get ready for the stretch run.

Yeah I guess. Our DL really needs to step up and losing Lawerence Wilson has been a bigger loss than I thought it would be. Where has Robert Rose been?

I'm not sure. He's been pretty quiet to me. I did see him make a tackle against their QB though.

Granted he's only a sophomore, but i'm waiting on him to become that nasty dominate DE that he's capable of becoming. If you saw him in the Army AA-game, you know how he just dominated all game. I'm waiting on him to do that for us. I know he can do it, I just don't know what the deal is?

I am too, because we looked BAD! At least for us. Hopefully we got that game out of our system, and have learned to bring it even Sat. We will NEED it the rest of this year, until we get another Championship ring.

Sorry for the late comment on this one, I just now started to read through this thread...

Lil Animal's injury was not serious, just a bruised hip, when he got kicked, the coaches held him out in the 2nd half as precautionary. He was at the post game presser and said he was ok to practice on tuesday.

Anderson Russell's injury on the other hand is a little more disturbing... No one knows the exact details as to how severe the ankle injury is. He was not able to put weight on it as he was helped off the field after it happened. The paper said he had a boot on and crutches at the end of the game. If that is the case then the good news is, its not broken, but not sure how severe the sprain is. What really bothered me about this is how it happened. The live TV camera did not catch it as it happened because it was not where the play was going, but the replay camera did, and this is the part that pissed me off since it was one of the dirtiest play I have ever seen on a football field. Basically as Russell was turning to cover another receiver going out on a pattern, another receiver came from behind Russell and blocked him behind the legs. Russell had no idea it was coming and I am surprised he did not blow out his knee. And naturally no penalty was called, I personally was up in arms yelling at my TV when it happened. WTF was that Kent State player thinking when he did that? It wasn't even one of those he got pushed into Russell while falling down kind of hits, it was a blatant block to the back of the legs, and don't give me this BS that it was an accident. Russell was running away from this guy...

Grrrr I'm still pissed about this, if you haven't noticed. I just hope he's not out that long... Jamario O'Neal as safety scares the crap out of me.

Yep! And I was so pumped when we got him out of Glenville, I don't get it. He is more talented than that, and our coaches are better than that. He might be the first disappointing player in Tress's era. And I mean lack of turning him into a better player.

Oh man. I was the biggest Jam-O fan of all Buckeye Nation, now he's a liability. Almost as bad as Dustin Fox. I seriously thought Jamario was going to be the next Jack Tatum. He's still a stud athlete, he just doesn't have it together mentally. I guess even Tressel can't make everyone a first round pick.

Jack Tatum? Now that's saying something.

Well look at Jam-O. He's freakishly strong, fast and athletic. He's built like a LB. He just continues to get lost in coverage and tends to try to make a big hit instead of wrapping up. Since I don't count Mike D'Andrea, Jam-O could very well be the first 5-star recruit bust under JT.

Yeah it's too bad he could never really contribute for us. But his injuries cleared the way for another true freshman to step up and make an impact that year, AJ Hawk. AJ probably would have redshirted if it weren't for D'Andrea's injuries. I also remember that year that Matt Wilhelm was almost benched to make way for D'Andrea. Then that year Wilhelm blew up and became a first-team All-American.

This is why recruiting is so much more than just physical measureables like bench press numbers and 40 times and scout star ratings...

I've seen the D'Andrea recruiting video back then, it was sick!
