TOSU has always been big on playing Ohio teams for our non conference games! Kinda give some $$$$ back to the state, and let some of the kids who normally wouldn't get some National Exposure and play in the Shoe! I understand your complaint but it doesn't bother me all that much! Hopefully we will be able to rest some of our guys then, and see what our young crew has to offer!
no I didn't realize this before, but Ohio State is playing on the BigTen Network? Man, once again, I do not get to see my team play.
No doubt! It is hard listening to the national pundits on t.v. when you know what you are leaving on the radio!
Anyone read Paul Keels book? The road to a Buckeyes Championship? If not it is a great read! I highly recommend it!
Buckeye Madness is also a great OSU book. I got it for my Dad for Christmas two years ago and I read it as well. It gives you a lot of history into the program including a lot of "insider" stories about players and coaches etc. It was also a really addicting book. The fastest 300 pages I ever read.
I was just looking at that, and a fire to win about Woody, on Amazon! And now you just talked me into it!
Dispatch article Not sure if any of you guys read this in today's paper, but I cannot understand why any coach would do this. I understand they are a huge underdog going in, and chances of winning are slim to none, but why go into the game with this kind of attitude? It just doesn't make sense. Why would anyone want to play for a coach like that? They might as well just not show up. As a high school coach, part of my responsibility is always to tell my kids that we will go into any match giving 100%, we play to win, we have a chance, I don't care if we are playing against the greatest team in the world, we go in with a chance to win. In high school athletes, I've always hated seeing the one kid on the team with low self confidence in his and the team's ability to get it done, if they are going into the game with that kind of attitude, he is better left on the bench. But when I read this article it just boggles my mind that this is the coach of a Div 1A college football program saying that. Maybe I'm just overreacting, but that makes me mad. If I was Kent State's AD, this dude would be fired on the spot. *ok off my soapbox now...
Beanie to play Sat. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/1192006307234330.xml&coll=2 Guess that's good news.
eh... I don't know. I still think you rest him for this game. Keep him healthy. We'll be playing against Kent State's 2nd stringers.
Click the link for the article. Their coach has already conceded they have no chance Sat. So he is going to have his starters out before the end of the 1st qtr. to rest them up for the rest of the Mighty MAC schedule!
