OSU-California Postgame: Players | NBC 4i This is exactly how I feel and I will never understand all the negative crap after a win... A win is a win is a win... You play to win the game... We won... We're 3-0.... We scored more than the opponent, thus earning a "win" There are certainly things to work on (90% was good, 10% was bad).. I realize that 10% could cost us a game somewhere along the line but it didn't yesterday, and now the coaches can address these issues... Again, we won, and most of us would've taken a win before kickoff yesterday even if we were told it would be a 3-2 final score... One more time here...we won, we are 3-0
Not sure what game you watched! 10% bad? HA! That game Was Ugly! Yes, I'm glad we won. But we looked like shit! Obviously you didn't see John Simon's post game interview. Tell him "a wins a win" He disagrees!
10% was bad? Let's see: - Defense couldn't tackle for shit - As a result of #1 gave up HUGE plays that let Cal score - Running game was inconsistent - Hall wasn't game sharp - Only converted 5/15 3rd downs - Secondary lined up 10 yards off the WRs even on 3rd-n-4 situations which allowed Cal to convert That's way more than "10% bad". We might have won but we didn't deserve to win based on how we played. We would have lost had Cal's kicker been a bit more accurate and hadn't gone 0 for 3.
I understand that they want to play off and get INT's but damn at some point you have to stop giving up easy yards and first downs and at least change it up and jam the opposing Wr's. That's been my biggest beef
I don’t think Urban will let this go on for long. He wanted more sacks this week and he got it. Problem is, and I don’t know why our defensive coaches never adjusted, but if you are getting pressure on the QB, the offensive team will start throwing quick passes and screens. Fick and Withers never adjusted... Also, Fick needs to teach his LB’s to wrap up!!!! This drives me NUTS!!!
Another pet peeve of mine is the way they all seem to want to chicken wing it and drop the shoulder. Seriously, there is a time and place for everything but if you are the first to the ball carrier, just break down and wrap up.
Actually, I do believe that it was THE longest rush from scrimmage by an opponent in Ohio Stadium ever. Embarrassing.
The only reason I disagree with you posting a pic that could be taken as singling out Shazier... while yes he blew a key tackle... the rest of the game he was on fire and was a force to be reckoned with... He blew a tackle on that big TD run, yes... but the rest of the game he was lighting people up, getting in the QB's face, and being a leader behind the D-Line... Shazier helped us win this game more than anyone in the back 7 of the defense (short of Bryant grabbing the game-sealing INT... but let's face it... the secondary gave up a lot of plays that shouldn't have been there)
Calling out Shazier was exactly what I was doing. I guarantee you that he has been called out in film study. I don’t care if you have 25 tackles, if you give up a TD because you fail to do the most fundamental thing that you’ve been taught as a LB, you should be called out.
