2012 Ohio State Buckeye Football Game 3: California vs. #12 Ohio State at Ohio Stadium (Columbus, OH) Date: September 15, 2012 TV: ABC Kick Off: 12:00 noon vs.
Name a couple things you guys want/expect to see this week. For me, we HAVE to find another weapon on offense. Someone to hand the ball off to so Braxton doesn't take so many hits.
He has to hand the ball off at the right times. Right now his discussions on the zone read have been seemingly arbitrary. It's really hard as a running back to be effective when you're running straight into an unblocked DE. I think this will clean up when Braxton has Jordan Hall. I think he will trust the senior RB a little more than his current group. Even still, If OSU is up by two scores in the fourth quarter, I see nothing wrong with a little off-tackle lead by the best fullback in the country. If he keeps taking this many hits he won't make it through the season.
I think Urban mentioned he wants to get Philly Brown the ball on offense on some handoffs. Getting Hall back this week would be huge. Hopefully Hyde isn't out for too long.
I am looking for us to start using Stoney more. He is such a mismatch and needs to be thrown to at least 6-8 times per game.
I wanna see this D Line do some damage. All the hype this offseason, but haven't seen a whole lot on the field yet
They gave up 31 points in both games this year to Nevada and Southern Utah. We should be able to score 50 on them.
UCF is considerably better imo...I think we will have a chance to really impress the casual fan this week if we can play up to our ability and win by 25+ points against another BCS school on national TV.
I definitely think this game we get it together a little bit more. Especially so if Jordan Hall is back.
Looking forward to a good game although I fear it will be a one sided blowout - 54-3 or something. Still not used to that aspect of the college game, running the score up that is.
My assessment of the offense so far is that they have a scheme that is designed to give them success, but they're still a little short on execution. I chalk this up to inexperience. This is their first year in the system. It's Braxton's second year as a starter. yaddy yaddy yadda.... Bottom line, the offensive difficulties are all due to the fact that they just haven't "clicked" yet. Once things "fall into place" and everybody gets synced up together, I think that this offense will be unstoppable. Don't know if it will happen this week, but it's a big step in the right direction.
At their weekly press conference today they said that Jordan Hall is medically cleared to play this week. I'm sure if he actually plays depends on how he does at practice during the week but to me it sounds like he will play.
Meyer Presser Recap: Cal | Eleven Warriors Good info here. Hyde has a MCL sprain and will miss this week. Bennett is questionable with his groin injury.
I hope Hyde Isn't getting discouraged. Looks to me like he might be. Hardly gets the ball anymore. Noticed on the option that Miller never pitches it to him. Easy to get hurt when you only go thru the motions.
