I agree. Urban is 73-8 at OSU. Could easily be 77-4.

2013 against Sparty - feed Hyde
2013 against Clemson - feed Hyde
2015 against Sparty - feed Zeke
    2016 @ PSU - feed Samuel

All those games, too many 2nd half QB runs

I didn't say that, he said that is what he is hearing. Secondly, I don't disagree with the statement that Day could have us more ready, we will know that after this game, but Meyer's teams are almost always slow out of the gate.

As predictable as Bama's offense is, they win Natty's.

It's possible that Ohio State's offensive play-calling and organization has been better in-part because Urban isn't involved, AND Urban is a GOAT coach and I wouldn't trade him for anyone else. Same could've been said for Tress's career. Tress was great, but if he had a Dana Holgersen instead of a Walrus, and let his OC run the offense, he would've been greater.

Even great coaches sometimes get in the way. The fact of the matter is, we have three great offensive play-callers on the headset at once. There can be too many cook's in the kitchen, even if they're all world-class cooks. Because of the crappy teams we've played, the jury is out on whether Urban sitting on his couch is leading to better play-calls, but I have no doubt that it has lead to more organized and quicker play-calling.

Im sure that Urb's would prefer a lot more RO instead of Day's pass first.

Bama's isn't to the extent that ours has been though. They still make plays and take advantage of weaknesses that opposing defenses give them to put the points up to win.

In our games everyone in the stadium, everyone watching on TV & everyone on the opposing defense seemed to know what was coming.. and then we look embarrassingly average on a national stage when we know we're the better team.

Urban is top 2 greatest of all time for me & most other people I think.. but I'd love for him to be more of the team CEO & let his coordinators do their thing... they're hungry & want to be HC's.. let them prove why they should be.

I e been frustrated with Urban as well. But don’t you think that he went out and hired Ryan Day for a reason? And gave him a 300% raise NOT to leave? Urban knew the issues with the offense. The WR’s look like a completely different unit. Remember, Zach Smith was encouraged to find another job.

Urban knew Haskins wasn’t a runner, but that’s the QB he coveted. Why? Because this is the type of offense he wants! Again, he doesn’t care if it’s RPO, or air raid. He’s a tempo guy.

Regardless of how people think the offense looks, and I’ve not looked up the numbers, but I’d assume that every year Urban has been at Ohio State he’s has had a top 10 offense in the nation.

Exactly this... Have fun elsewhere, Ryan Day. They said the same thing about Mullen, Herman, and a slew of other coaches that came up under Urban. Wanna know why Urban is on top? It's because he brings all of the other aspects that these other coaches don't understand.

Kids want to play for him, assistants want to coach under him, fans love him, and his strength coach is the best in the nation.

I doubt that Ryan Day could emulate anything close to what Urban has done in his career. In fact, there have only been a few coaches in history to do so.

I can't wait to have him back.

I don't know where you're getting that from. He wasn't tempo anywhere else, and although he's given a lot of lip-service to "tempo" since he got here... we hadn't seen it on a consistent basis until a couple weeks ago. Before this season, running "tempo" for Ohio State meant snapping off a quick zone-read on the first play in the red zone, or scrambling to get set and waiting 12 seconds for a play to come in from the sideline.

Ohio State has averaged 57th in the country in plays per game since Urban took over. Right now in 2018 we're 22nd.

I believe the opposite. I think Urban is uncomfortable with tempo, and I speculate that he's responsible for slowing the offense down at times.

He’s not always been a tempo guy, you’re right. But I honestly believe that Herman changed how he feels about it. The problem is, I don’t think he’s had a QB/OC relationship that he’s felt comfortable with running it with. The offense moved at a much faster pace with Herman. I believe we will see this offense break records this year.

Bit you’re right, it’s been lip service up to this point. But I have to believe the Day was brought in to run tempo, being that he learned from the absolute best in the business.
