I think the lack of a quick snap may be what kept the booth from stopping play.
i am yelling at my family also....disgusted in the way the defense played.
Give Juice the Heisman after we made him look like a all star.
3rd & 10 and he runs for a first down in the 4th qtr....i am sick
I am surprised we weren't able to make any effective 2nd half adjustments. How did we let this happen, again?
Man I just had this feeling we wouldn't be able to stop their running game....
just like the florida game, no halftime adjustments and offense played terrible. i thought the coaching was very poor tonight. fisrt the T.O on the 4th and inches and no adjustment to contain juice.
So did I.
I was more nervous about this game than the Michigan game.
I was commenting to my dad during the 3rd quarter about how much they resembled Florida (speed and even color wise) =\
I thought our offense was OK, not great by any means. It was the defense (what we relied on all season) that let us down.
was anyone at the game? what was it like walking out of the stadium?
I kept thinking how much the lose to illinois reminded me of the 1998 loss to Mich. State at home. I was at that game and it was one of the saddest things I have ever seen. Walking down those ramps was so quiet, the only sound was girls crying.
I was there and sitting in my seats as the final minute or so ticked off it was scary quiet. I know I was more in shock when the game finally ended because we only ran 3 PLAYS in the entire 4th quarter! Walking out of the stadium was weird too. It was an awkward silentness and yes I saw a few people emotional.
After that 1998 loss, I went to the Holiday Inn and ordered 10 beers (they only charged me for 5!) all at once so I could try to get over the loss. I ended up partying with some Michigan State fans who were actually really cool about the whole thing. That really helped.
I've seen this kind of situation before where there's a fumble that was blown dead and the booth refuses to review it because it had been blown dead.
It's the stupidest rule on the books guys. They don't do this in the NFL. It's retarded. If the ref blew it dead, he must have done so erroneously. Who cares if he blew it dead, if by what happened on the field he was not down but he fumbled, then it shouldn't have been blown dead.
As for Tressel's "challenge", they probably told him it wasn't reviewable. It's completely stupid.
The Bucks are going to come out of the tunnel on saturday full of hate and anger. Michigan is in for a long day.
I understand that it was blown dead, that has been what I have been told for the past day as the reason they could not review it. My biggest beef with it is, why the hell was it blown dead!!!!???? I mean I can understand if he was tackled and was being dragged to the ground, and the ref steps in and blows the whistle, but in this play Donald Washington was just trying to push him out of bounds, the RB did a flying leap and just friggin dropped the ball while he was airborne. What the hell was the ref doing blowing his whistle when the player is still airborne? They blew that call big time, there is no two ways about it. When the cameras shot at the RB after the play as he was going to the sidelines, you could see that he was looking at his hands not believing he just dropped the ball.
I know arguing or even making a big stink about this is not gonna change anything... after cooling off for about a day now I feel somewhat better and not as angry anymore, but it still sucks...
Yep, happened to us against Wisconsin in 2004, the first year for replay in the Big Ten.
I was more nervous about this game than the michigan one
Our defense looked disgusting
i still have a sick feeling in my stomach comparible to our loss to florida.
I never want to blame the refs for an outcome of a game. But, they took momentum right from us on this very play. It was on OBVIOUS fumble and we would have had it out on the 20. With the chance to score again and go up 14-0. It's sick.
that deffinately was a huge point in the game. we go up 14-0 and take away alot of their confidence
I cannot believe this. I have been gettingso much crap at school about this. Well at least we will beat Michigan next week and it will shut everyone up!
^^amen to that
