Well they still take them and a lot of the time they are still needed, and as you know, it's a more raucous crowd over there. I myself may have to head there with the disaster that is the BTN. I normally just snag a place at the bar if there is one available
What do you guys make about the fact the pundits keep waiving around -- Wisconsin has beaten Ohio State at home 3 times in a row? Does this give the Badgers some kind of psychological edge or is it just an anomaly?
That 2004 game against Bucky Badger was ugly. If not for the Ted Ginn TD return, it wold have looked real, real bad. Our offense was just stymied by Wisconsin that day. Wasn't that in the middle of our 3 game Big-10 losing streak in 2004?
I think Wisconsin's 3 game win streak here would give them some confidence. But, many, if not most of those players probably have little to no experience at the shoe considering we haven't played them 2 years.
i'm still working on the wifey for the direct tv and sports package. the going back and forth to the local watering hole for football has made her slightly more apt to say yes. i'm trying to round up a bunch of alumni in Gainesville to catch the games (those without satellite anyway) and this one (wisconsin) is the last on satellite.
I'd definetly get the DirectTV. However you'd only need it for 1 more game (this Saturday) as the Illinois and tsun games will be nationally televised.
Are there any Gators fans in Gainesville grumbling about Urban Meyer now that the Gators have flamed out and lost 3 games? Also, why can't the Univ. of Florida recruit a single running back? it seems remarkably foolish to run your franchise QB up the middle over and over again against the likes of Auburn, LSU and Tenn.
no one seems to be grumbling, but everyone sure is quiet about how "good" the team is this year. the gators do have the RB from USC that transferred at the beginning of the season. he redshirted though, so not able to play until next year. very few good RB's come out of florida and that's the problem. lot's of good receivers, linemen and QB's. recruiting happens mostly in florida for UF. the hilarity of it all is the fact that the gators have three good QB's and only use one of them. i, for one, am very happy to see them go down!
that all said...it sure is funny (repeatedly) how the Big 10 gets lambasted about being weak, but look at how wacky the SEC has been. auburn gets beat by USF, then beats UF, who loses to LSU, who loses to UK...and so on. who is the weaker, less consistent conference?????
hold on Florida Buck, Maurice Wells from THE Ohio State Florida is from Jacksonville Fla. He just disappeared from the Gators radar? Anyway, back to Wisconsin: Bruce Hooley from 1460 seems sure that P.J. Hill is going to limp off the field from his shin bruise by mid-1st Quarter. Do you think Heacock will have his boys keying on that bum shin?
a lot of good DB's come out of florida as well. i forgot about m. wells. he's one of the few, the proud....you know the rest. as far as hill, i would make sure they know 'no upper body tackling'.
Isn't P.J. Hill from the Bronx or something? I haven't seen much of Wisconsin play this year. The only game I have seen was against Mich. State. In that game, their offense was seemingly moving the ball at will and spreading it around. Other than Hill (if he is even healthy), who does Wisconsin have on offense that can hurt you?
They have a TE that requires a DB to cover, from the limited amount I've seen of Wisky this season, he seems to be a guy they go to and delivers in the passing game. The QB is a mobile guy, not Vince Young or Troy Smith mobile, but enough that they run him about 10 times a game. They have a big, fast receiver from Glenville who is a freshman, but he is their deep threat. All this in addition to their offensive guard playing RB in PJ Hill of course.
It sounds like they depend on the play-action passing. That stuff never works aginast OSU because 1) you can't run consistently against us (unless your last name is Biankabatuka) and 2) our defensive backs are too disciplined.
