The first edition of the BCS standings were released Sunday and Texas is No. 1. Here's a quick look at the top 10.

    1. Texas
    2. Alabama
    3. Penn State
    4. Oklahoma
    5. USC
    6. Oklahoma State
    7. Georgia
    8. Texas Tech
    9. Ohio State
    10. Florida

I like where we are at the moment. Thoughts?

Right where we want to be. Kinda surprised to see Oklahoma St. so high.

Ya same, I was expecting to be in front of Oklahoma St. but behind Florida. Either way, good spot for us.

If we beat Penn St. we better bust into the top 5.
I don't really think Texas Tech and Okie St. should be ranked ahead of us. Georgia is pretty overrated too IMO.

I'am pleased with our spot. It was odd not to be top ten.

    Georgia, Yes. USC, No.

USC was upset by Oregon State. It was an upset, USC is still a exceptionally balanced team and has a fair shot at beating anyone in the top 10.

I wouldn't touch anything in there top 5.

Interesting to see that the computers have us at #5 WITHOUT even playing Penn State yet.

(the computer generated rankings have #5)

We lost on the road in a big time out of conference game to an opponent that is still highly ranked. Teams like Florida lost to an unranked team at home. The computers really look at where the losses take place.

Also, our wins over teams like Minnesota and MSU look a lot better to the computers who don't have their own bias.

I think they should obviously be ahead of us but more like 7th or 8th, not 4th or 5th

    9's good.
Close game win against PSU = 2 or three spots
Blowout win against PSU = should shoot back into the top five
