--The Patriots decide to release CB, Willie Andrews after Assault Charges.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80915d27&template=without-video&confirm=true

This cannot be good for the Pats. Not only they got rid of Asante Samuel and Randall Gay. Also they have cut Tim Mixon and now Willie Andrews. Can you say "NO CORNERS" now. That really hurts the Pats. I find it funny, though how these NFL players still don't learn and continue to get in trouble:

Although he didn't plead guilty, it would suprise me if he was actually guilty. Just stupidity.

--Any Buccaneers fans here? Recently the Bucs signed Ernest Graham to a 3 year extension worth $10.5 mil. That is a nice salary and I think it was smart too. Noone knows how Caddy is going to do after coming off of these horendous seasons and his injury. Plus, Michael Pittman is getting old(32).

--Kevin Jones decided to workout with 4 different NFL teams after leaving the Lions recently. The 4 teams he worked out with were the Dolphins, Packers, Steelers, and Lions.

Maybe Dick Rod will hire him as an assistant. He has the right persona.

--Brett Favre says that coming back is "All a Rumor"

    http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=768751

Good, he needs to stay retired. I don't want to see him try to come back and have a terrible season and wind up in the hospital. He is one of the best QBs all time and the toughest player of all time. Make, it so everyone remembers that. Not the QB that tried to come back and got hurt.

--Matt Forte signs a 4 year extension with the Bears.

This guy is a stud and I think he has the potential to really prove himself with the Bears. And what better timing, than after the Bears just released Benson?

ya, he was a good player too. It is a shame to see all of these NFL players dying. Sean Taylor, Kiel now, D-Williams, Hill, and whoever I am missing. Just crazy.

    Intelligent.

now lets go to some good news.

    --Tony Gonzalez saves a life

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8092f5e5&template=with-video&confirm=true

what a guy. This future Hall of Famer is something else. He sets records on the field and saves lives off the field. Plus he does a lot of charity work, too. He is a great guy.

--Commish, Osi, and Brees are in Baghdad

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80931dbb&template=without-video&confirm=true

That is a pretty cool story.

Hey guys, do you like this thread? I was just curious, cause if you guys think it is pointless, I can stop. I am just wondering if anyone likes it.

That's awesome news about Gonzales. For a minute I really thought it was Anthony and not Tony.

--Brett Favre asks for release! He wants to keep playing!

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8094081a&template=with-video&confirm=true

wow. He really needs to stay retired. I would have loved to see him come to Miami and win us a few games, and at the same time mentor our young QBs, but he says that his job isn't to teach, it is just to play. I lost a lot of respect for the guy. He should stay retired!

    --Matt Jones... drugs?

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8093a0e8&template=without-video&confirm=true

and another intelligent decision by an NFL player. When are they going to learn!?!?!?!?!?

What! Someone strap Brett down and put him under house arrest! Don't ruin your perfectly good name just for the sake of playing again!

--Peyton Manning to miss 4-6 weeks

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8094d49c&template=with-video&confirm=true

He wasn't going to participate that much in Pre-Season in the first place, and he is going to miss any of the regular season, so this shouldn't be too bad.

--Some good news on Chris Henry? wow

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8094a607&template=with-video&confirm=true

    surprising

    --Colt Brennan signs with Redskins

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8094a225&template=with-video&confirm=true

I am not sure I understand why they got him. They got a solid QB in Jason Campbell, and they have Collins who played well last season. Not too sure about this...

--Joe Flacco signs 5 year deal with the Ravens.

Ravens, Flacco agree to five-year, $30 million contract

I still don't understand why they moved up that high to pick Flacco. He is a stud QB, but he could have easily last 5-10 more picks. Whatever, both sides are satisfied and all is well.

... not much around the league today. Just the same old Brett Favre crap.

What does this mean for Troy Smith? Are the Ravens looking to install Flacco as the starter or are they willing to give Troy a look?

This is what I am thinking. I am thinking that the Ravens are really going to look into a deal with Favre to try to get him on the Ravens for a year or two. Where, he will not only help them win games, but he will at the same time mentor the young QBs that they have like Boller, Smith, and Flacco. If that ends up not happening where they don't get Favre, then I think it is going to be a 2-way battle between Boller and Smith. I don't think Flacco is going to get much time this year on the field if any. I feel that Boller will get the starting job at the beginning of the season due to expierence. Then he will play terrible and Troy will get the starting role for the rest of the season.

They can't insert Flacco into their offense quite yet. He is a rookie, and he needs to get playing time in the pre-season just to feel what it is like in the NFL, and just wait out a season or two and I think he will be a starter then. Boller in my mind is terrible, so that shouldn't be too much of a worry of Troy Smith and Joe Flacco. Remember Smith was drafted in the 5th round, where Flacco was drafted in the 1st round. And as much as I want to see Troy Smith have a great career, I think that the Ravens are thinking that Flacco is going to be their Franchise player and Smith will be gone in 2-3 seasons.

    Just my take.
