New season of QB1 dropped on Netflix featuring Justin Fields. If you’re interested I’d highly recommend it.

Imagine what TTUN’s fans are feeling.

First the #1 QB in your own backyard commits to your rival.

Then the rumor of one of the top QB recruits of all time is transferring to your rival.

The #1 QB in your own backyard doesn’t even bat an eye, he flips to a school he’s never even been to some 800 miles away!

    Lmao!

    From Kyle Lamb:

Now that Fields is official, the next question people have is the waiver. I will explain the waiver process here for those that want to know (1/2)

Ohio State is responsible for applying for a waiver for his immediate eligibility. They will file the paperwork (probably with help from Fields' attorney) and within a few weeks will be assigned an NCAA case worker. This person is responsible for going before a committee (2/3)

The committee is a panel of like 10 individuals from a rotating pool of about 25/30. They are assigned each case at random. The case worker (not the attorney) is responsible for making the argument on behalf of the student/athlete as to the waiver (3/4)

The committee's job is to ask a bunch of questions as to why the waiver should be granted. It's based on whether circumstances are beyond the student's control. After the hearing, it can take days, weeks or months to decide. Once the decision is made, they inform the school (4/5)

In short, the school can get an idea from the case worker how the hearing went and what decision might be coming, but no one truly will know until the decision is made. In a situation like Fields, it's believed he would be granted but there is no way of knowing for sure (5/5).
