+ The situation with Kaleb Wesson hasn’t been too hard on him personally. He is just trying to encourage Kaleb and not let him get down on himself. Everybody is uplifting him and helping him through this time.

+ They need to focus more on playing inside-out against Northwestern.

+ Kaleb is just trying to do what he can do right now, being the best teammate that he can be. It is helpful that Kaleb still travels with the team. Having him there is huge. He is motivating the team during timeouts.

+ This season has taught him that they have the talent, they just have to lock in.

+ They have had players only meetings. Wesson said they definitely did help.

    Senior forward Andre Wesson
    What he's done:
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward has made steady progress throughout his three years at Ohio State. A versatile, defense-first frontcourt player with experience at small forward, power forward and center, Wesson scored in double figures just once in his freshman and sophomore season. But as a junior, he averaged 8.6 points per game, hitting 43 percent of his shots and knocking down 33.6 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. The tough-minded veteran started 34-of-35 games last season and played 30 minutes per game after coming off the bench for the majority of his first two seasons.

His role next season: As the sole scholarship senior on Ohio State, Wesson will be looked up to as a leader. He's not overly vocal, but he's respected in the locker room, makes scrappy plays, wins 50-50 balls and will set as good an example as possible for the youth-filled team. Though nothing is certain at this point, he has the inside track to start at small forward. Wesson made noticeable strides last offseason and he'll be expected to further improve in the upcoming months. The frontcourt will be crowded next season, but that won't prevent him from playing extended minutes.

Andre Wesson was Ohio State's third-leading scorer (8.6) and rebounder (4.1) last season.

ANDRE WESSON - POLISHING OFFENSIVE GAME

Wesson outperformed the expectations of just about everyone last season as reached double figures in 12 conference games while averaging 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 35 total games.

Looking deeper into the numbers, not only did Wesson play a much larger role as a junior than he did as a sophomore, but he made significant strides in polishing his overall offensive game.

As a sophomore, Wesson shot 37.9% from the floor but improved to an even 43.0% last year. Much of this gain came as he looked to create more opportunities inside the arc.

During his sophomore season, Wesson took more threes (56) than twos (31) even though he shot 54.8% from inside the arc and just 28.6% behind it. Last year, Wesson actually took more twos (127) than threes (110) though his percentage inside the arc dropped a bit (51.2%) while his accuracy beyond it saw nice improvement to 33.6%.

Over the summer, Wesson will work to build on his accuracy from beyond the arc but hopefully also continue developing moves inside it while refining his midrange jumper and shots around the paint.

Even more aggression toward the hoop could pave the way for more free throw opportunities which would be a great thing for Ohio State as Wesson has shot roughly 75% over the last two seasons. The senior-to-be made almost four times as many trips to the line last year than he did as a sophomore while ranking third on the squad in free throw attempts.
