[IMG]Putting 2016 forward Matthew Moyer into the top 100 for his class is looking to have been a wise decision. The 6-foot-7 forward simply has a knack for recognizing his matchup and attacking accordingly. If he draws a smaller defender he plays as a skilled four, with a bigger guy he goes to the wing. He can shoot, competes for rebounds at the rim and is a transition finisher. Moyer mentioned offers from Iowa, UNLV, USC, Dayton, Detroit, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Butler and Air Force to go with interest from Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan State, Arizona and Arizona State. - See more at: https://ohiostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1658336#sthash.KolRc8Gi.dpuf

    Matt Moyer (6'8 PF / Gahanna Lincoln / 2016):
Several days after receiving six scholarship offers in less than 24 hours, Moyer should expect his phone to keep buzzing after a strong showing on Saturday. Doing the most damage along the baseline, Moyer put his impressive length and explosion to use in helping lead VCC to three-consecutive wins. Alongside Towns, Lima Central Catholic forward Dantez Walton and Columbus Walnut Ridge forward Malik Harrison, VCC enjoys a size advantage in most of their matchups, which has been a major reason for the team's success this summer. While Moyer's outside shooting is still a work in progress, the 6-foot-8 forward has looked more comfortable shooting from the perimeter, knocking down threes in each game on Saturday.

    That looks like the case:

Matthew Moyer, Syracuse basketball's newest recruit, has exploded on national radar – The Syracuse Post-Standard

While the Buckeyes would appear to be natural favorites, Fred Moyer said the family has bristled at the way Ohio State handled Moyer's recruitment. He said Moyer set up his own official visit at Ohio State instead of being invited and walked away without an offer, earning one only after Florida and other schools showed major interest.

"We're going to give them a fair shot," Moyer said. "But if he goes somewhere else and he blows up and in a few years he's in the NBA, that looks horrible for them. If you're interested, offer him. If you're not, don't offer. It kind of looks like a back-handed compliment. To not show any interest, or have much of any contact, with a kid who lives that close, I mean, come on."

This type of stuff needs to stop with in-state kids.........

No excuse for a late evaluation and decision on a offer to a kid in our own backyard.
