Stream of coaches for Tyus Battle

Several coaches have watched five-star Tyus Battle this week with the latest being John Beilein of Michigan.

Beilein was scheduled to watch Battle on Saturday according to recruiting analyst Evan Daniels.

The 6-6, 205-pound shooting guard from Edison (N.J.) Gill St Bernard S School also had Rick Pitino of Louisville and assistants from Notre Dame and Villanova watch him this week.

The consummate shooting guard with size, Battle is ranked No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite.

Battle isn't the only prospect Beilein has watched this week. The Michigan head man also watched 2016 five-star Josh Langford and 2016 four-star Maverick Rowan.

Duke has a large lead in his Crystal Ball.

'16 shooting guard Tyus Battle whittled down his list of schools to seven remaining teams. Louisville, Connecticut, Michigan, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Duke were the teams to make the next round of cuts. A big reason the Buckeyes remain in the fight is because of the work head coach Thad Matta has done to stay in contact with the five-star recruit. Matta was just recently visiting Battle to watch him shoot on Feb. 19, and has made sure Ohio State is on the mind of the prize recruit.

The 6'6, 205-pound Battle is ranked as the nation's 13th-best prospect at any position, the fourth-best shooting guard, and the number one recruit from the state of New Jersey. As you can see below, most of the 247Sports Crystal Ball experts have Battle pegged as a Duke Blue Devil, with Syracuse hanging on with a few votes themselves. For now Ohio State still has some work to do, but making the top seven should go a long way in helping Matta earn some more talking time.
