The last 3 games, JT has thrown for 756 yards at 66% completion rate, 11 TDs and 0 INTs........

    I don't care who that's against, it's really good...........

Very interesting.............one is viewed as a first round pick and the other one is viewed as struggling to pass..........

Just for comparison.............Hurst is viewed as a quarterback that can win a championship.......perception is everything.......

If JT had the wheels and elusiveness that Hurts has, I'd say the same thing. Stats aren't everything.

JT won't be winning a championship this season. If the team wins one, it will be in spite of him, not because of him.

JT is on pace for this thru 12 games:

    Passing:
    3,004 Yards
    32 TD's
    2 INT's
    64% Completions

    Rushing
    644 yards
    6 TD's

Lesser numbers won Troy Smith the Heisman trophy, yet here we (myself included) are discussing weather or not JT needs to be benched for a guy who has proven nothing. Let's enjoy the last 7 or 8 games that we have him and appreciate what he's doing.

Simply posting numbers (projected numbers in this case) arguing for or against a spread QB is a waste of time. The spread system simply makes not good QB's look like good QB's. That's the entire problem with QB's going into the NFL the last 10+ years. JT is playing much better but there's so much that goes into it that just throwing up numbers or "he's on pace to have..." really doesn't help or hurt a debate in my mind. HOW he's doing it is so much more important.

Exactly. You're all saying "don't believe the hype... Look at the numbers."

I'm saying don't believe either... Look at the film. He just isn't a championship QB. Sure, he's going to break almost every record in the book, but he won't be taking home that Natty without some MAJOR help from our running game and defense.

We saw it against Clemson and Oklahoma. Why did have Rutgers and Maryland changed your minds so quickly??

Name me a quarterback in college football who can win it by himself?

    I'll just wait.

I have been critical of JT there is no doubt but I also think he gets to much of the blame when we lose and no credit when we win.........

It is unreal how he is viewed by Buckeye nation..........

It is like we forgot all of his wins against quality opponents........and just concentrate on all his wins over lesser teams......or

2014 Penn State game on the road....
2014 Michigan State game on the road.......
    2014 Michigan game......
2015 Michigan game on the road.........
2016 Fiesta Bowl vs. Notre Dame....
2016 Oklahoma game on the road.......
2016 Wisconsin game on the road.......
2016 Michigan State game on the road.....
    2016 Michigan game........

These were all huge games he helped win..............

I believe he has only lost 5 games in which he started the game..........

Yet the majority of fans will judge him and his career on the final few months of this season...........

All teams we should have beaten on paper. And it's the run that put them away.

Sorry, but I'd like to see a reasonable downfield passing attack from a 5th yr senior.

We should be slicing through the big ten like a hot knife through butter, but we can't seem to get a passing game going to do so. I just think TOSU could do better.

Also, I'd take Hurts, Francois, and Jackson (obviously) over JT right now if you're asking off the top of my head.

You may want to check out the current Big Ten rankings this year...........

    Pass offense: #1
    Rush offense: #2
    Scoring offense: #1
    Pass efficiency: #1
    First downs: #1
    Third down conversions: #1

Oh by the way we are last in the league in time of possession....

JT is first in the league in total offense.........

Not sure he can do much more than hit a few deep throws which he does better than most in college football............

I think people want a video game type of offense here and want JT to do what Mason Rudolph does against teams like Tulsa or South Alabama, but then ignore the fact that teams like that NEVER do anything with any significance against quality teams. For example, losing to TCU...

Again, I know JT has flaws, but not nearly as many as people want to give him. We are very critical because we overanalyze every play. But friends of mine (who are fans of other teams) have told me that we should really appreciate what we have. Sure, we'd love to have Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield (even though he's a dbag) running our offense, but other than him and maybe Hurts, I can't think of another QB in the country I'd rather have than JT.

Through first two games, our numbers were trash ... Army, UNLV, Rutgers, and Maryland aren't exactly a good litmus test for this team.

I'm taking the wait and see approach.

Sorry, but you're just not going to convince me that JT is a top 15 QB when his completion percentage over 15 yards is complete trash against those teams.

We'll probably cruise through the rest of our schedule bc the B1G is awful this year (PSU is overrated, MSU is down, and scUM can barely get a first down), but I'm curious to see how we perform come bowl season.

Just sayin'... my point about spread system QB numbers was not meant as a knock on JT, just that simply using numbers whether pro or against him was pointless.

JT has improved in this offense.. that is not up for debate.

I just think the story of how he's getting these stats tells a lot more about him as a player than the cumulative gloss over of looking at the season stats thinking it's an indication of anything.. when plenty of bad QB's have great season numbers mainly by putting up stats against crap teams & it balancing out the bad games against good teams. Know what I mean? Hard to explain on my break at work
