Nothing against the young man...............the father seems to be a issue going forward........it is a mute point in my opinion..........no way the father allows his son to verbal again and face that attention.............

When Alex Anzalone (Wyomissing, Penn./Wyomissing) de-committed from Ohio State due to unusual circumstances, multiple teams saw it as a grand opportunity. Notre Dame was quick to act.

"With the recruiting door reopened, Notre Dame assistants Chuck Martin and Harry Hiestand visited Wyomissing Area High School on Tuesday, a sign the Irish have a considerable interest in getting Anzalone to South Bend for good," Steve Hare of IrishIllustrated.com reported.

Anzalone was already interested in the Irish prior to his previous commitment to Ohio State. Notre Dame appears ready to close the deal, and they're using an interesting angle.

"Martin, Notre Dame's offensive coordinator, and Hiestand, the Irish's offensive line coach, weren't the most logical choices to visit a defensive prospect," Hare noted. "But, it's a telling sign that Notre Dame is willing to line Anzalone up on either side of the ball if he signs with the school in February."

Anzalone's top five schools haven't changed throughout the process.

"It's Notre Dame, PSU, Stanford, Florida and Ohio State in no order," he said.

Kinda like Seantrel Henderson to a degree. Or Lamarcus Joyner's uncle.

The family of Alexander Anzalone insists Ohio State is still a possibility after the linebacker decommitted from the Buckeyes due to an unfortunate incident. While the family may be saying one thing publicly, the opposite may actually be true (see: below).

This is good news for programs like Notre Dame and Penn State. Both were quick to react to the decommittment and impressed Anzalone in recent days.

    ---

As ESPN.com recruiting expert Mitch Sherman notes, 2013 LB Alexander Anzalone (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) has decommitted from Ohio State University after a convicted sex offender posted a photo on the Internet of himself and the junior linebacker, taken during Anzalone's unofficial visit to the OSU campus last month. Sherman's story has the unsavory details of what went wrong in Columbua, but at Rumor Central we're concerned with what's going to happen next. Where might Anzalone end up?

One thing's for sure: He'll have no shortage of options. Anzalone has more than 20 scholarship offers from Florida, Michigan, Georgia, Notre Dame, Alabama, Stanford and USC, among others. According to Mike Drago of the Reading Eagle, Florida and Stanford are at the top of his list, followed by Southern Cal, Penn State and Notre Dame.

A return to Ohio State is not out of the question. "It's a possibility," the linebacker's father, Sal Anzalone, tells Sherman. "Things change. You can't hold them responsible for other people's behavior."

What are the odds the Buckeyes still land Anzalone?

"...Anzalone decommitted and it appears unlikely Ohio State is a legitimate landing spot for him any longer."

Luke Fickell reportedly visited Alex today. Hopefully we were able to regain some momentum here.

I don’t really care either. If we get him back, cool. If we don’t, cool.

Jaylon Smith should be our top target!

I just find it ridiculous that this pic was such a big deal but somehow Penn State remains in his top-5...

This kid is fine. He's decent. He would be a good addition to this class. But if he goes somewhere else, I don't think we'll ever hear his name again...

    On to the next one....

alex11w LB Alex Anzalone informs me he will not be able to make it to Columbus on the way back from his June 14 trip to #NotreDame

alex11w Anzalone says he is still considering #OhioState #NotreDame #Florida #Stanford #PennState and #USC...has "no idea" when decision will come

This situation still ticks me off.
