While everyone was watching Cavs-Spurs, the Knicks and Lakers were putting on a REAL SHOW: http://t.co/GQoCxZJFkh http://t.co/c78Ip06LXh— SB Nation (@SBNation) March 13, 2015

Durant out indefinitely...ouch OKC is gonna be a zoo next season since Durant is going to the Wizards in 2016
You'll never guess who picked-up KD in the second round of his fantasy draft... The prospect of having Steph AND KD was too enticing to pass-up.

.@okcthunder announce @KDTrey5 will have season-ending surgery and will resume basketball activities in 4-6 months. pic.twitter.com/7BQmIeagrx— NBA.com (@NBAcom) March 27, 2015 That's basically the entire offseason. He played 27 games this season at less than 34minutes per game.
Bomani Jones made an interesting point today on Mike and Mike. KD is now a 7-footer with bad feet. It's hard to lump him in with centers because he isn't a center... But he's as tall.
Ya the foot injuries kill man. Big Z for example was never the same. Could you imagine if KD was never the same? Especially after whats happened to Rose? Wow...
Assuming it becomes a recurring, chronic issue (hopefully he'll rehab fine and be 100% next season)... does he have the drive to be as good as he can be, knowing he'll never be what he could be, like a Grant Hill. Or is it more of a "I got paid, I'm not going to kill myself" attitude like Gilbert Arenas. What makes it so bad is that this is his prime. We talk about prime like it's a 5-10 year run... but if you nail it down, it's a two or three season window of true prime. That time for LeBron was his first three seasons in Miami IMO, for Durant that time should be now. Even if it's just one lost year... it's a lost year of leading the league in scoring, continuing his improvement as a playmaker and defender... giving Golden State a fight. This is probably overreaction... But OKC could be the dynasty that never was. If you told me headed into the 2012 finals, that OKC would lose in 5 and they wouldn't make it back to the finals in the next three seasons... I'd call you crazy. The only one of their big-four that has remained healthy was traded away and is now an MVP candidate.
CP3 went for 41 and 17 last night... It's going to sound crazy, but he's still my pick for best PG in the league. When you compare overall averages, he doesn't really compete with Steph or Russ, but when you look at what happens when he goes against other PGs it shows... And I think it'll really show in the playoffs. Averages per game when both players are on the court: Against Steph Curry, 4 games Steph: 17.8pts / 4.8assists / 52.4% fg / 3.8 TO CP3: 16.8pts / 6.8assists / 40% fg / 2 TO Against Russell Westbrook, 3 games Russ: 13.3pts / 5assists / 31.3% fg / 5.3 TO CP3: 16.3pts / 6.7assists / 54.8% fg / 1.7 TO Against Mike Conley, 3 games Mike: 7pts / 5.3assists / 30.4% fg / 1.7 TO CP3: 18.3pts / 7assists / 64.7% fg / 1.7 TO Against Dame Lillard, 4 games Dame: 14.5pts / 6.3assists / 39.6% fg / 3.5 TO CP3: 25.8pts / 11.3assists / 48.7% fg / 2 TO He actually has the best Offensive Rating among guards against West teams. Third best at any position against the West.
Kyrie destroyed him last matchup I've always found CP3 generally overrated. Sure, he's a top 5 PG. But people act like he's some elite player like LeBron, Kobe (before old age), Durant, etc. For someone who many have regarded as the 3rd best player in the NBA for many years now, he has accomplished nothing in the playoffs. And probably never will. The Clippers are absolute pretenders. How much of his lack of playoff success is his fault? I don't know. But he's 30 and doesn't really have anything to show for it in the postseason. To me, he hasn't been THAT special since he left NOLA. He should have stayed. Kinda like Melo should have stayed in Denver; Melo and CP3 will likely never get further in the playoffs than they did with the teams that drafted them. Unless they are role players on a championship team at the end of their careers.
He's played for two of the worst franchises in the NBA. The Clippers have 12 playoff wins with 3 years of CP3. They have 11 in my lifetime without him. You can't judge point guards on "what did you do in the playoffs". Nash, Kid, Hardaway all had plenty of early playoff exits. Championships aren't had on the back of a point guard or small 2. I would never trade LeBron, Kobe or Durant for him; those that say that are overrating him. No point guard in my fan lifetime is with that group.... and I was a huge Iverson fan. Against Kyrie Irving, 2 games Kyrie: 18.5pts / 4.5assists / 50% fg / 2 TO CP3: 12.5pts / 11assists / 29.5% fg / 2.5 TO The Cavs did hold CP3 in check this year though. But, like much of CP3's career, he got guarded by Cleveland's 2-guard more often than not. But that's a typical problem with having a Point Guard as your best player. If you don't have a 2 that can create a shot next to him, he's going to be guarded by perimeter defensive specialists like Tony Allen, while Mike Conley can chase JJ Reddick around all those screens. I hate how much he bitches to officials though.
The Clippers are all bitches. I despise them. I agree with your points. I guess what I'm saying is, CP3 isn't winning a title as that team's best player. He's not a #1 on a Champion. IMO. But many people still think he can do it, I'm just not seeing it.
