That's weird that you put that because he was the 1st player that I thought of when I was thinking about players looking for other options than OSU. Hope he stays.

Doesn't mean a whole lot. Good chance if he doesn't get hired as the HC after this year that the new coach doesn't keep him or he moves on for now

You think that the new coach after Fick (if there is a new coach) won't want to keep Curtis Grant?

Are you slow or something? It wont be the HC choice Grant can leave at any point no matter the coach, if Ohio St doesn't realease him of his scholly all he would need to do is drop out if ohio st and walk on elsewere at another school

I don't think I have ever been as pumped about a defensive player coming in as I am with Grant. That being said, I sure hope he stays. Any time someone gets a comparison to Ray Lewis, it means they are the best at the LB position. It's like basketball players getting compared to MJ, Magic, or Bird. Here's to CG sticking it out at the real Linebacker U! :eek:h_sign:

Rumors are running wild about every single thing involved with the program............

Lets see what happens after Luke does damage control on some of these kids............its just normal for kids to be concerned, sometimes all it takes is a phone call to calm a kid.

Not sure this is nothing more than your basic internet rumor.........

Grant is 100% Buckeye for a fact....Loves Fickell as do a large majority of these recruits...Kalis said he would look elsewhere if Luke isnt the head guy...The administration is gonna have a real tough choice this winter....

Ohio State freshman LB Curtis Grant acknowledges a tough camp

    Published: Thursday, August 25, 2011
By Doug Lesmerises, The Plain Dealer

Ohio State freshman LB Curtis Grant acknowledges a tough camp, but wants to avoid 2011 redshirt

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Five-star recruit Curtis Grant hit the practice field for preseason camp, and Ohio State linebackers coach Mike Vrabel started yelling. At any OSU practice during the early days on the field, it was easy to tell that the former NFL veteran was taking a major interest in his third-team middle linebacker.

"When I first got here, he was always telling at me," Grant said. "I was like, 'I'm not used to this, why are you telling at me 24-7?' But they said when they stop yelling at you, that's when they don't care about you. So now I take it as 'OK, coach cares about me, so I'm going to keep working hard.'"

Ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the nation by Rivals.com, Grant arrived in Columbus with the size -- 6-3 and 225 pounds -- and high-school highlights to warrant discussions about early contributions. Now, he may be an interesting redshirt discussion, though coach Luke Fickell said Thursday the coaches haven't yet mapped out which freshmen should play and which might sit out the year working on the scout team.

Grant, though, is honest enough to admit his career hasn't started exactly how he envisioned it.

"I had high expectations for myself, and when you don't reach those expectations you kind of get down on yourself," Grant said. "I kind of lowered them down a little bit, and I'm working each day to get better.

"I'm not going to lie. My expectation was to come in and keep working hard and try to learn the playbook in a week and a half and get on the field as much as possible. But after a couple weeks, it was like, 'come on, be realistic, these guys have been here a lot longer than you have, and they're going to know the playbook a lot better than you.'"

It's really nice to see a kid with this much talent and rated so high coming out of HS be so humble. When you hear him speak, you can just tell that he really has respect for the upper-classmen and doesn't expect anything to be handed to him.

I really like this kid and I'm happy he's a buckeye.
