    To me there is clearly clearly too much on the shoulders of Warinners. Through 3 games it's simply not working. My my fear spring practice was that this QB thing would eventually become a distraction. Fortunately we won but this is becoming a big distraction.

    We are simply not playing like a #1 team.

    For all summer and the first few games the media has been saying how great this team is. Maybe part of the problem is that our team is starting to think that too.

    My thoughts:

    For starters, NIU is good. I tried telling people this...you don't win 11+ games for 5 straight seasons by accident. Honestly, that's a top 3 opponent on our schedule this year.

    The defense...wow. I knew this defense was going to be good, but I didn't think they'd be carrying the team. Quite possibly the best defense we've had since...shit, probably 2005.

    The offense though...holy mother of Christ. The QB play and the playcalling have been dreadful. I'm not sure if the overall struggle is due to the QB competition, the new OC, or both, but goddamn.

    It is time to give JT all the 1st team reps this week and see what he and the offense can do starting the game next Saturday.

    Three interceptions today. Three interceptions for JT against VT last season... the previous Ohio State quarterback to put-up 3 picks was Todd Boeckman. Braxton only ever had two interceptions once IIRC.

    Taking this moment to observe (and whine about the fact) that they were wearing the old gray-less jerseys again today. This makes it official that they haven't adopted the playoff jerseys as their full time jerseys and only wore them the first two weeks to pay homage to the playoff run. Not at all surpassing, but still massively disappointing...

    Hopefully they wear the playoff jerseys as their alternates from now on at least.

    JT has earned the QB position. Let him take all the reps this week (Practice) and go back to basics (Football 101 on the offensive side of the ball). An O lineman loves to put his hand in the dirt, jack his ass up and knock people off of the ball. Power football and consistency in practice will right the ship. 4-0 however we have to get it corrected now...running out of time.
