last week it was tough to because the ball came out so fast. but today i thought there were times they should of put more pressure on. they picked up almost every blitz we called. washington was in beast mode and so was spence. if those guys keep playing that way it won't be long they are on the field more.

Did Washington and Spence start? If not they were on the field very very early

Let's not forget how dominant a healthy Michael Bennett is....

A healthy Nate Williams would do wonders too....

    Washington is an absolute stud...

    As is Spence and Schutt...

I assume Pittman will be a beast too down the road...

Any idea how bad Hyde's injury was? I'm not too worried about Howard. Seemed to me like they were just playing it safe with him, but a knee injury like that can get all kinds of scary for Hyde.

Sprain MCL is what I heard on BR. Probably out for a week or 2.

Honestly I hope it happens because I think it will improve the offense by a lot.

To thine own self be true~~~

I expected more diversification from Meyer than we are getting, running B.M.
(no,not Bowel movement)27 times is insane, sure some of those runs were ad libbed but damn, longest pass was 15 yards, where are Smith,Spencer,Philly,Fields and Stoney ?.Our strong point was to be our "D"
i see no pressure on the QB (1 sack) no safety blitzes,D.B's out of position giving up big yardage.Sure hope this weeks practice is severe,i can see Urban being pissed and rightfully so.With 2 cup cakes coming in about time to rev this team up.The Big-10 SUX again.Purdue got screwed by the officials at
"Touchdown Jesus".Not worried yet, this will be a dam good team given time.

It's pretty obvious this team is pretty young yet and we really lack playmakers on offense. It certainly doesn't help that our top 2 RBs are hurt either. Defensively we are being hurt by our LBs and our dline has to find a way to get more pressure.... yet these guys are still kinda young too.

I agree. We have a young team overall but our secondary seems like they get burned on blown coverages far too often for my liking. I still think we are playing a vanilla game on O and D though and I expect us to step it up in conference play or we are in big trouble

It'll all look a lot better when Braxton starts making the right reads more consistently.

To be honest there's going to be some pretty plays and ugly ones. That's what's happens when instill a new offense. I still think this team can get 10 wins this year but our youth and schedule setup perfectly for next year. The defense has disappointed me a little but I am still confident when guys like Bennett and Williams heal up the rotation will look good. QB wise I don't see a QB that can pick us apart in the future games. We just need to tighten up on the run and tackle better!

I completely agree l8w... it would've been nice to see a better showing yesterday... but I'd rather them work out these kinks in the system early rather than once we hit the meat of the conference schedule.

I thought our secondary can be pretty good but they need to work out the mental lapses in coverage. We all saw a lot of mis-communications out there that led to big plays.

same thing im running into with my players, secondary is good but are just having little mental mistakes that a solid team like UCF and that a team that throws it like miami will expose and make it look worse than it really may be. honestly it just looks like a case of they may need to check to cover 2 but not eveyone is communicating so half are playing man and half are playing cover two, and no matter how good you are that will never work you have to communicate

we need a leader to step up in the secondary

    Step away from the edge!

We are probably playing base defense/packages now and will begin to show a little more against CAL...coaching 101; do not show it all in the first 2-3 games if it is not necessary. If you can win playing base D do it! MSU has a new QB that is strugglng...un-leash it on him!

Offense will be O.K.; young, injuries and a new system.
We have an excellent staff that will be ready when it counts.

I predict 4-0 heading into MSU game week.

    Go Bucks!

I'm sure we are playing a base defense right now and not showing much even on offense but some of the defensive mistakes aren't by not playing your complete defense. It's 2 games in a row where we have seen broken coverage result in huge gains. If that continues to happen then we should be worried.

I'm sure it will be fixed but it's definitely something to talk about.
